Meet Mandi—our true Parking Lot Angel! Recently, while arriving for work, Mandi noticed a surgical patient’s family member had fallen in the Hospital parking lot and was unable to get up. Without hesitation, she jumped into action—comforting them, helping them into a wheelchair, and escorting them to the ER for evaluation.

While in the ER, Mandi ensured Admissions contacted the patient’s family to ease any concerns, letting them know everything was under control. During the process, she discovered the patient's surgery was actually scheduled at the OSC. Once cleared by the ER, Mandi personally wheeled the family member over to the OSC.

Her swift response, kindness, and above-and-beyond compassion are a shining example of what it truly means to care for others. Thank you, Mandi, for showing us all the heart of McBride.

On Monday, Dr. Chris Espinoza teamed up with OU Athletic Trainers and other members of the medical community to participate in high-intensity emergency preparedness training. Dr. Espinoza covers OU Athletics and will be ready for all the action later this month as the Sooners kick-off the 2025-26 football season. After a tough night battling GI upset, a patient expressed a simple wish: bananas. Dalton contacted the cafeteria and learned the Hospital’s banana inventory was completely gone for the day. Dalton felt strongly about fulfilling his patient’s wish, so after finishing his shift he headed to his car, drove to a nearby store, purchased bananas and brought them back to his patient. The patient was thrilled! A simple wish. A BIG act of kindness. Going above and beyond and putting patients first speaks volumes about what it means to work at McBride. Dalton’s compassion and dedication exemplifies the McBride Standard.

There’s truly nothing like seeing thousands of THUNDER FANS flood downtown Oklahoma City to celebrate a NBA CHAMPIONSHIP! It was a historic moment—not just for OKC, but for the entire state. The energy was absolutely electric as the CHAMPIONSHIP buses rolled through the streets, with everyone cheering on our NBA CHAMPS. McBride Docs were right in the heart of it all, soaking up every unforgettable moment as they waved to the crowd from their celebratory seats. What a SPECIAL day to remember!

McBride Norman had a patient in a motorized wheelchair who was trying to arrange transportation through a contracted company. Unfortunately, they were unable to accommodate the patient’s wheelchair, which weighs approximately 300 pounds and requires a lift or trailer for transport. The patient was extremely upset and even considered having her daughter push the wheelchair across town on the sidewalks—an impractical and unsafe option given the distance across Norman. Christy stepped in and called her husband, who brought a trailer to transport the wheelchair and delivered it directly to the patient’s home. This is a perfect example of the compassion and dedication shared by McBride team members every day. Thank you, Christy, for going above and beyond!
