"I don't run, I just row..." she told me when we first started working together.
Jill said that she used to be a competitive runner but was afraid to run because it hurt her knees now. So even though she's been training CrossFit for a long time, she would always just row instead of running because she was afraid her knees would hurt.
fast forward to working with her for a few months and improving all of her mobility, stability, and strengths deficits. I asked her if she has started running yet and she said she was still afraid to give it a try for anything longer than a 400 m run.
we had a maintenance visit this week and I told her I wanted her to try some longer runs if they came up in the warehouse this week. She said she would give it a shot but was going to keep her rower handy in case her knee started to hurt.
Last night she sent me this text and I couldn't help but say "I told you so" 😆

😴 Not gonna lie... almost let myself slip on DAY 2....
Worked all day today, ran some honey-do's for Jenn, ate dinner, got the girls in bed (eventually), and made the decision to stay consistent.
11pm is not the "optimal" time to do a 25 minute rowing workout.
But, I put my shoes back on and did what I said I would do.

Who is the Everyday Athlete?
Anyone who is regularly active. Most of our clients are CrossFitters, weightlifters, cyclists, runners, hikers, gym-goers, yoga practitioners, martial arts students, and swimmers.

How does it work?
Free 30 minute Mobility Assessment to discuss what you have had going on and perform a full body movement screen to find limitations in mobility and motor control.
Each session after that is one hour long with a Doctor of Physical Therapy.
Each session consists of hands on treatment, use of tools (IASTM, cupping, flossing, mobilization bands, RockTape) if needed, and movement training.
You will be sent home with 2-3 exercises to work on to maintain the progress made in each visit.
Each visit will look a little different as you progress.

Typically, we see people for 4-10 sessions depending on what they have going on and how long it has been an issue.
