Our Story
Dr. Amit Gumman has amassed an impressive amount of academic and professional experience and is the preeminent practitioner of holistic healing in the Oklahoma area. He is the founder, president, and Chief Clinician of Harmony Healing Center and has been in private practice for more than 22 years. His practice and medical training integrates a wide array of therapeutic modalities drawn from Acupuncture, Ayurveda, Herbology, Naturopathy, and Yoga.
Acupuncture is an ancient method of healing that can be traced back more than 3,000 years to India. Buddhist monks were some of the earliest practitioners of acupuncture. Over time, acupuncture was passed into Chinese culture, where it was carefully nurtured and eventually rose to the current level of popularity. Today, acupuncture is embraced by modern medicine and is considered one of the most well researched holistic medical practices on the planet. Acupuncture helps millions of people around the world maintain wellness.
Ayurveda, which literally translates as, “life science”, or “the science of life”, calls for careful, individualized assessment of each person’s physical, emotional, and psychological aspects. In Ayurvedic Medicine, there are three governing energies known as doshas that impact the body; Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. The doshas are responsible for thousands of mental and physical processes that take place in our bodies. Identifying the combination of doshas within each patient enables Dr. Gumman to establish a specific approach to treatment and healing.
