Heavenly Faith Birth and Doula Services Doula Information:

The term “doula” originates from the Greek word for women’s servant. I get my strength from our heavenly father through prayer.

"Guiding mothers with gentle hands and a caring heart through the journey of birth"

Shelly Bryant is a Certified Birth Doula, Assistant Midwife, Life Coach & Birth Photography A common phrase associated with doulas – “mothering the mother” – most definitely exists for a reason – they act as a supportive emotional guide during a very important time in a woman’s life. Doulas have existed for centu

ries in one form or another – women have always served and supported other women in childbirth, often leading to positive effects during on the labor process. Doula’s are professionals trained and studied in the natural process of childbirth, and the specialize in providing emotional and physical support – and typically serve as a source of information for a mother on different methods of birthing. Doula’s work with women who are expecting, during the labor itself, or a woman who has recently given birth (postpartum). A doula must help a woman feel empowered about her pregnancy options, and must help her birthing experience be both safe and ultimately memorable. As a doula I am an invaluable addition to your birthing experience and can provide deep support to an expecting mother at all levels of care - whether it be a home birth, a birthing center or a hospital. Doula care and companionship in a hospital/medical environment has been shown to:

* Decrease the need for epidurals and other pain medications.

* Reduce the rate of medical interventions during pregnancy and labor augmentation procedures such as the use of Pitocin.

* Reduce the rate of Cesarean sections. And in general, having a doula help with your birth experience has been shown to:

* Shortens the labor process, leading to fewer complications.

* Strengthens and kickstarts the process of deep family bonding.

* Increases success rates with breastfeeding.

* Helps the mother's partner participate meaningfully in the birthing process at their own pace.

* Lessens the impact of any postpartum depression. A doula is there to make you feel secure, empowered and to boost your self-confidence in the birthing process by providing knowledge that will let you make informed decisions and constantly supporting and encouraging you to explore the best options for your birthing experience. I encourage and support pregnant mothers through pregnancy, during labor and delivery. I serve OKC metro area, Moore, Norman, Mustang, Yukon, Edmond, Midwest City, and Choctow. "As a Christian, I believe that our heavenly father created women so their bodies can carry healthy babies, labor and give birth to their babies safely. I believe that praying is so powerful that I pray about every situation no matter how big or little. If you need me to pray about anything, Please let me know. Blessings to you. I hope to to supplement and support the miraculous experience of your birthing process. "To find out more information about me and how I can help you, feel free to contact me. Hi everyone! Welcome to my page 🙂❤️

My name is Shelly Bryant-Anderson. I'm a Christian, a mom and a Nana! I'm a birth worker. I'm an assistant midwife and Birth Doula which I absolutely LOVE. I also work online. Network Marketing can open up many doors and opportunities.

I'm also a domestic violence survivor and I will always share my story in hopes of helping someone else. I will continue to educate others about domestic violence awareness.

I joined the network marketing industry in 2017. After my 26 yr marriage fell apart and we divorced in January 2018 I found myself depending more on my online side hustle.

My children and grandchildren are definitely my why! Why I joined the network marketing industry back in 2017! They are why I stay in this industry and work so hard.

I have been marketing and social selling for YEARS and didn’t even know I was doing it! Have you ever suggested a drink from Starbucks to someone? Or maybe suggested a new burger from that joint down the street?

You are MARKETING/SOCIAL SELLING!🤩 If you can get that down you can do what myself as well as countless others do daily! 🙂

I have mentored and coached others to earn the extra income, meet their goals and take control of their mindset! Helping put a smile on someone's face and helping them make money while doing it is something I truly love doing! 🙂❤️

My goal is to help as many people as possible! You’ve come to the right place! Believe in yourself! You can do this! Jump on broad & Let’s grow together! 😀

Marcy Axness, PhD on the "Risks of Induced Labor": “Epidural effects on the baby revolve primarily around maternal hypotension and can result in reduced circulation, which may lead to fetal depression or a 'sleepy' baby, just one of the myriad effects of the cascade of interventions and complications that often follows epidurals.”

When I was first attending births in 1984, the obstetric model was to cut the umbilical cord immediately after birth and take the baby away for evaluation and a first bath. This was based on the belief that placental blood flow would increase birth complications for babies.

Even back then, we midwives knew to do it differently - we waited until the placenta stopped pulsating - 10 or more minutes -- before clamping and cutting the cord. Baby’s did great, placentas came out readily, and all was good - even if our methods were considered silly by doctors.

Times change, science has caught up. The midwives were right. We now know that immediate cord cutting, unless there’s a medical emergency that requires it, is not recommended. The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists now recommends a delay in umbilical cord clamping for at least 30–60 seconds, and the WHO recommends 2-3 minutes.

The benefits of waiting include:
❣️ Transfer to baby immunoglobulins and stem cells, essential for tissue and organ repair
❣️ Extra iron, which has been shown to prevent iron deficiency in the first year of life
❣️ Possibly reduced risk of hemorrhage and easier placental delivery for mom

While jaundice can develop from delayed cord cutting due to this influx of blood, this type of jaundice is not usually a medical problem. Baby will naturally clear this excess iron with pooping. Your midwife or pediatrician will keep an eye on baby over the first few days to make sure it’s clearing. However, the benefits of delayed cord cutting are more beneficial for baby than the risk of this jaundice.

Unfortunately, immediate cord clamping/cutting are still common practice in hospitals. You have to let your midwife or doctor know that you want to wait, with baby tummy to tummy on you, while you do. I recommend bringing this up with your care provider in advance to ensure that they are on board to do ‘delayed cord clamping and cutting’. Get specific with exactly how long you want baby to be connected to the placenta. Unsure how to advocate for yourself? Want guidance on pregnancy, birth, and newborn care? Don't cut the cord!

Don't cut the cord!
