Last week, Baptist Village of Ada hosted a slightly competitive😉but mostly friendly tournament of Hand and Foot Canasta. From the smiles on everyone's faces, it's safe to assume the competitiveness wasn't too intimidating. Contrary to what the pictures show, the tournament wasn't only for the ladies, but we think the men were afraid of them🤣.

The resident pool at Baptist Village of Oklahoma City has been updated and refreshed with a tropical vibe. The updates include fun tiki hut window dressings, new paint with a coastal flair, and new furniture with a tropical touch. Water aerobics takes on a new feel when you can pretend you are on a beach vacation...minus the messy sand of course.

Anything is better with friends...especially lunch and a scenic drive. Friends from Baptist Village of Broken Arrow took a road trip to Tahlequah on a beautiful Spring day and had a blast from the past at Del Rancho as they ordered their food from a phone at the table.

Residents in Okmulgee are ready for Easter. These creative, painted bunnies may not come with baskets filled with candy and eggs, but they are always cheerful and colorful, and they don't require cages that need to be cleaned.

If you're familiar with the downtown and Bricktown area of Oklahoma City, you are likely familiar with the building commonly referred to as "the Sonic building." This week, we saw the iconic Sonic sign come down. Change is exciting and for many, this marks a significant moment, as the building, now the home office for Baptist Village Communities, has always been known by that popular name.

Plans for a new sign are unknown at this time.

What qualities make a good nurse? This question was recently asked to Bob Ice, RN, the Director of Health Services at Baptist Village of Oklahoma City. The first quality he listed was compassion, which is undoubtedly true and is demonstrated daily by the team at BVC. Ice also highlighted a few other essential traits of a good nurse, including patience and a willingness to learn daily. Thanks to the generosity of donors last year, Baptist Village Communities helped an average of 87 financially challenged residents each month, directly returning $337,000 to help cover rising costs for medicine and medical care, emergency expenses, and other daily living necessities.

The Adam’s Assistance Fund at Baptist Village Communities provides monthly financial help to those facing financial hardships. It is 100% donor-funded by gifts from our gracious supporters.
