About last night… What an honor to hear speak! I was introduced to his book a little over a decade ago and it was the my soul needed. I highly recommend it for anyone finding themselves going in circles with religion. It was the start of what has been an incredibly fulfilling spiritual journey for me.
Loving YOUrself is a good start but it is not the end goal. We seem to be stuck developing a world where self love is a lot of people’s end game, but it can quickly turn to selfishness. Real is in releasing the . I have a lot people tell, “You’re so strong!” Which I think is a compliment, but honestly is more a reflection of doing the work on yourself. I often don’t feel strong, but I know I’m consistent. Consistency is key 🔑. Facing your shadow is hard and healing hurts. If it wasn’t EVERYONE would do it.
Advice from my own journey:
1. Don’t fear emotional pain. Your freedom is on the other side of facing it.
2. Set boundaries. This means you may lose some “friends”, maybe even some family. Some people will make incorrect assumptions about you, but just remember they don’t really know you anyway. Moreover, they likely don’t even know themselves.
3. Meditate. If you can’t sit still with yourself you won’t 🌱. If that sounds too hard, start with conscious breathing for 1 min at a time. But you’ve gotta start somewhere.
4. Stay consistent. Eventually your habits become you. So make healthy ones and stick with it.
5. Give yourself grace. No one’s perfect. You’re going to mess up, but don’t let your mistakes make you give up and fall back into your unhealthy habits.
I could talk about this stuff forever, but I’ll leave it there for now.
Cheers to and the ! 🥰 😇🪽
