Crystal and I had the privilege of joining our Right at Home Performance Group in beautiful Montreal earlier this month.
These gatherings are always a highlight of the year for us; this one marked our 20th trip together! Over the years we’ve learned a lot by sharing best practices, swapping bright ideas, agonizing over things that did not work, and staying on top of industry trends that truly impact the families we serve.
A big thank you to Jaime from RAH-Corporate for the outstanding leadership, and to all the incredible owners and peers who make this group so special.
Every trip is a reminder that beyond the learning, it’s about the friendships, the laughter, and the shared journey of building our part of the American Dream.

Right at Home – NW Oklahoma City was honored to provide Dementia Training for the amazing staff at Saint Katharine Drexel Retirement Center in El Reno.
This powerful hands-on training put caregivers in the shoes of those living with dementia. Staff members wore:
👓 Vision-restricting eyewear
🦶 Foot neuropathy simulators
🎧 White noise headphones at high volume
🧤 Clumsy gloves that limit fine motor skills
Then, they were asked to complete three normal daily living tasks. Simple tasks, like folding clothes, setting a table, hanging a shirt, writing a note, putting on a sweater, matching socks! The results? Frustration, wandering, freezing up, shadowing others, giving up—and even moments of deep emotion.
When you can almost experience what people with dementia face every day, your heart opens in a new way. Compassion grows. Patience deepens. And understanding becomes the foundation of truly compassionate care.
At Right at Home, we believe that training like this is a huge step toward improving the quality of life for those we serve.

A couple of weeks ago, members of our corporate team joined Project Houseworks to repaint the home of a senior in our community. For older adults and those with disabilities, home repairs can be costly and challenging, but with a little teamwork and a lot of heart, we helped give this home a fresh new look and a renewed sense of comfort. 🏡

We’re proud to volunteer with Project Houseworks for the fourth year in a row and grateful for the chance to serve in a way that truly reflects our mission. 💙

Road Trip Memories
When a friend calls and says, “Hey, want to take a quick trip to see the old homestead and drop off a couple of items at the Stephens County Historical Museum?” — I’m always in!
Susan and I always enjoy our time with Choc. But when folks found out he was coming, that “simple trip” quickly turned into something much bigger — a city-wide welcome!
We were greeted by the Honor Guard, the Mayor of Duncan, two newspapers, the local TV station, the museum curator, special music, and a large gathering of people who came to share memories, honor his service, and celebrate the good ol’ days of Duncan.
What started as a small favor turned into a truly unforgettable day. And yes, we are his entourage!!

When Mr. Charley experienced a sudden housing crisis and needed to be relocated quickly, caregivers Rebekah and Damien from Right at Home Rhome, TX stepped in with extraordinary care and dedication. Within just one week, they helped him find a new place to live, packed up his belongings, and even disassembled and reinstalled his accessibility ramp at the new location.

Their support didn’t stop there. On their own time, they took Mr. Charley to local missions to shop for essentials like sheets and household items, and Rebekah personally ensured his deposit was covered. Their actions were driven not by obligation, but by a deep passion for making sure Mr. Charley’s basic needs, and beyond, were met with dignity and love.

At Right at Home, the heart of our mission lies in caregivers who go above and beyond to make a meaningful difference in the lives they serve. ✨
