Let's talk medicinal plants! 📞🌿

Unlike pharmaceuticals, which often have a single mechanism of action, plant compounds offer a synergistic cascade effect, meaning that the plant's entire chemistry offers a greater effect than the sum of their individual parts.

That's why no bacteria on earth exists that's evolved to be resistant to herbs. When used correctly, herbs can be powerful medicine. 🌱⚕️

All the plants I personally tincture and consume are grown organically in my backyard. Never consume a plant in the wild that you can not personally identify with 100% certainty! First year mullein plants are commonly misidentified as they resemble deadly foxglove. ☠️☣️

I will have dozens of second year mullein plant starts available for $5 purchase this spring. They will shoot stalks in the fall and self seed every season thereafter! In addition to making great medicine, their stalks can also be dried and turned into torches, traditionally burned during the Celtic fire festival of Beltane, also known as May Day! 🌸🌼

A ruptured ectopic pregnancy with 2 liters of blood loss wasn't on my bingo card for 2025, but here we are! Thank you so much for your grace and your patience as I've been out of the office and resting these past 3 weeks. The OKC community has shown up for me and taken care of me this month in ways I could never have imagined, and that I am deeply grateful for. I feel blessed to be here, both in OKC, and you know... alive. I'm easing back into work, which never feels like work because this office is my heart and soul embodied. Every day here is a good day. Thank you for sharing in it with me. 2025 has been wild. 2026 will be even wilder. Don't blink.

🕉 I'll be teaching a free yoga nidra this Saturday at 3:30pm! 'Nidra' is sanskrit for sleep, and yoga nidra aims to foster awareness between wakefulness and slumber. I will be at the fair all weekend long, and you can swing by the Radiant Healing Arts Center booth to come say hi! 👋

🧘🏼‍♀️ I'll be at the booth Saturday before class from 12-3:15pm and Sunday from 1-4:00pm. The booth is right next to the classroom I'll be teaching in, so you can't miss us!

💸 $9 gets you into the fair with free lectures and hands-on classes all day long. If you'd like to try yoga nidra, dress comfortably, and bring anything you might need to prepare for the ultimate nap! I recommend a yoga mat, eye pillow, blankets, and bolsters! 💤🛏

How am I spending my Monday out of the office this week? Harvesting and transplanting fall roots! 🌿

This video shows me dividing and transplanting Elecampane, one of my favorite medicines for upper respiratory infections and productive coughs. All of the plants grown organically in my garden end up in my medicine cabinet. 🌼
