☀️May is Skin Cancer and Melanoma Awareness Month! To protect your skin from skin cancer, it's essential to schedule regular skin screenings, as these are crucial for early detection and prevention. In addition to screenings, there are many important steps you can take to protect your skin from the sun:

1. Use Sunscreen: Apply broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30, even on cloudy days. Reapply every two hours or after swimming or sweating.
2. Seek Shade: Whenever possible, stay in the shade, especially during the peak sun hours between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
3. Wear Protective Clothing: To further shield your skin from harmful UV rays, wear long sleeves, wide-brimmed hats, and UV-blocking sunglasses.
4. Avoid Tanning Beds: These increase your risk of skin cancer and should be avoided altogether.
5. Regularly Check Your Skin: Look for new moles or changes to existing ones and report them to your doctor.
