Jon 17 and Karen 18, both seniors in highschool, met one day when Karen came by selling ads for her highschool yearbook at the radio station where Jon worked as a disc jockey. Jon said she โ€œknocked me outโ€ with her beauty! Karen was not an easy prize to win, however. After graduating, Karen went on to Colorado State for college and he stayed in Anchorage, Alaska. They continued a long distance relationship, but it wasnโ€™t easy. In fact, they broke up three times! Jon didnโ€™t give up on the girl of his dreams! One July morning, he took her up in the mountains for the day. The hours passed and before they knew it, it was evening time. However, in Alaska, it was still light out that time of year. The moment felt right and he popped the question. Her responseโ€ฆโ€Iโ€™ll think about it.โ€ Well, needless to say, she finally said I do. Not every day has been easy since, but they made it through law school and raising three boys together. 59 years later, Jon still looks at Karen with the kind of adoration that any girl would pray for from a partner and Karen still keeps Jon on his toes, giving him a little sprinkle of sass now and again! In fact, not long ago, Jon was visiting with Karen and sneezed. He said, โ€œexcuse me!โ€ and without hesitation & grinning, she responded, โ€œthereโ€™s no excuse for you!โ€ โค๏ธ
