We focus on caring for the whole individual, building relationships and supporting families. We are always looking for volunteers to share with our residents. Emie from Frontier Hospice came by to do STEM with our residents today. She immediately recognized Dr Tkach. Emie met Dr Tkach right out of college. She began her journey as a physical therapist by caring for some of his patients after surgeries that he performed. She later had the privilege of working with his son’s patients. When she reminded him of their connection, they both got a little misty-eyed! She expressed her respect for him & his legacy and he expressed his pride for her & her journey to help people. He said helping people was always what mattered most to him, not the title or recognition. It was such a precious moment and a reminder that we have the honor to care for some pretty incredible humans, who happen to also live with Dementia. 💜
