🌙 Sacred Rest is next Saturday, September 20 from 2–4 pm. Join Amanda for a deeply nourishing workshop designed to restore body, mind, and spirit.

The philosophy of yoga is about a very simple thing: freedom. The teachings tell us that in order to find lasting freedom and happiness we must discover our innate wholeness - our true nature.

Through yoga, we can find freedom from the obstacles in life that keep us bound in suffering and conflict. This inward journey, back to our Self - our goodness, our power - might be the most important journey of our life.

In this workshop we will bring these philoshiphes to life. Using gentle movement, pranayama, myofascial release and yoga Nidra we will embody and integrate these truths.

Everyone is welcome, from beginner to seasoned yogi. This will be a sacred time to connect with yourself and remember your wholeness.

Excessive sound and idle chatter create veils across our perception. In stillness, those veils fall away, and we begin to realign with what we know is true.

If you’ve been sensing the call for stillness, it’s in rhythm with the season. As we move from the bright yang energy of summer into the yin of fall, nature asks us to turn inward, conserve energy, and hear the messages that rise in quiet. 🍂

🌑 New Moon Medicine 🌑

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the new moon is considered the most yin point of the cycle - quiet, dark, and full of hidden potential. Just as seeds rest in the soil before sprouting, this is a time to turn inward, conserve energy, and plant intentions for the month ahead.

The new moon aligns with the Water element and the kidney system, which holds our deepest reserves of energy (jing). It reminds us that true renewal begins in stillness, not in action.

Tomorrow night we’re hosting our first New Moon Yin class. We’ll give permission to let the practice be soft and reflective, breathe deeply into the lower back and kidneys, release tension through gentle forward folds, and honor the wisdom of rest.

Breathe with the trees, watch the water, listen to nature’s sounds.

When we rest our awareness in nature, we are reminded that peace is always available, not because the world has changed, but because we have allowed ourselves to return to its quiet grace.

This Land Yoga is a welcoming place for consistent teaching and challenging movement. Yoga is so much more than just movement, though. It’s a practice that builds mind-body awareness, strengthens our relationship with ourselves – and also our relationships with others. That’s why This Land is focused on building a yoga practice, a healthy lifestyle, and an authentic, local community. This is a place to feel challenged and connected to yourself, but also inspired, and connected to each other. Because no matter where you are in life, yoga can help you get grounded and get strong on your path. This Land Yoga is not only a place for you to explore breath and movement but it is also a way to connect to this body, this mind and this community.
