Before & After Tongue-Tie Release 👅✨
On the left: attempting a suction hold before tongue-tie release.
Notice how the jaw has to stay mostly closed because the tongue doesn’t have enough mobility to lift and maintain suction properly.
On the right: after tongue-tie release and proper healing.
The tongue can now elevate and maintain a suction hold with greater jaw opening and range of motion.
Why this matters:
Improved tongue mobility can support:
✨ Better oral rest posture
✨ More efficient swallowing
✨ Reduced compensation from the jaw and lips
✨ Improved breathing patterns
✨ Better airway stability
Release is just one step — myofunctional therapy helps retrain the muscles and build new functional patterns so the tongue can move and work the way it was designed to.
Function changes everything. 💜

Your breath is a powerful tool. 🌬️✨
It can shift your nervous system in seconds.
It can calm anxiety.
It can improve focus.
It can deepen your sleep.
It can reduce jaw tension.
And the best part? It’s available to you all day, every day.
When you breathe through your nose with proper tongue posture, you support:
✨ Airway stability
✨ Oxygen delivery
✨ Nervous system regulation
✨ Muscle balance in the face and jaw
✨ Long-term health
Breathing well isn’t just automatic — it’s a skill.
And like any skill, it can be retrained.
Your breath isn’t small.
It’s foundational. 💜

Taco tongue 🌮👅
Yes, it’s a real thing in myofunctional therapy!
“Taco tongue” is when the sides of the tongue lift up and curl, creating a taco shape. 🌮
It’s actually a sign of good tongue mobility and muscle control — especially important for proper swallowing and speech.
Healthy tongue function supports:
✨ Proper oral rest posture
✨ Clear speech
✨ Efficient swallowing
✨ Airway stability
✨ Better sleep
If your tongue struggles to lift, cup, or move independently, it could point to weakness, restriction, or compensation patterns.
Your tongue is one of the most important muscles in your body — and training it can transform how you breathe, sleep, and feel.
Curious what your tongue can do? 👀💜

Did you know your body posture should be part of your myo program? 🧍‍♀️👅
Your tongue doesn’t function in isolation.
It’s connected to your jaw… which is connected to your neck… which is connected to your shoulders… which affects your breathing.
Forward head posture, rounded shoulders, and slouched sitting can:
🚩 Narrow the airway
🚩 Encourage mouth breathing
🚩 Increase jaw tension
🚩 Disrupt tongue posture
🚩 Affect swallowing patterns
That’s why myofunctional therapy isn’t just about mouth exercises.
It’s about how your whole body supports your airway.
When we improve posture, we:
✨ Support nasal breathing
✨ Reduce strain on the jaw
✨ Improve muscle balance
✨ Help your exercises stick
Function is full-body.
And real change happens when we address the system — not just one muscle. 💜

Mouth breathing isn’t just a habit 😮 — it’s a signal.
Chronic mouth breathing can impact:
✨ Sleep quality
✨ Jaw and facial development
✨ Gum health
✨ Tongue posture
✨ Energy and focus
✨ Snoring and airway stability
When the lips stay open and the tongue rests low, the airway and facial muscles start compensating — and over time, that affects the whole system.
Myofunctional therapy helps retrain:
👅 Tongue posture
👄 Lip seal
👃 Nasal breathing
💪 Muscle coordination
🧠 Functional patterns through neuroplasticity
The goal isn’t just to close your mouth — it’s to support breathing the way your body was designed to.
Better breathing. Better sleep. Better function. 💜

Signs of airway issues in kids 👶👃💤
Airway problems in children don’t always look dramatic.
Often, they show up in subtle ways that are easy to overlook.
Watch for signs like:
🚩 Mouth breathing
🚩 Snoring or noisy sleep
🚩 Restless sleep or frequent waking
🚩 Dark circles under the eyes
🚩 Bedwetting beyond typical age
🚩 Teeth grinding
🚩 Crowded teeth or narrow palate
🚩 ADHD-like symptoms or difficulty focusing
🚩 Frequent congestion
🚩 Open-mouth posture during the day
Healthy breathing supports proper facial growth, better sleep, emotional regulation, and learning.
If something feels “off,” trust your instincts. Early intervention can make a huge difference in long-term development.
We take a collaborative, root-cause approach to help support airway health and function. 💜

Wondering if myofunctional therapy is right for you (or your child)? 🤔👅
The first step is a functional assessment.
An evaluation isn’t just a quick look — it’s a comprehensive review of how the tongue, lips, jaw, breathing, and airway are functioning together.
During your assessment, we look at:
✨ Oral rest posture
✨ Tongue mobility and strength
✨ Swallowing patterns
✨ Breathing habits (nasal vs. mouth)
✨ Jaw stability and tension
✨ Sleep-related symptoms
✨ Facial development (for kids)
From there, we create a personalized plan based on your needs and goals.
No guessing. No random exercises.
Just clear answers and a structured path forward. 💜
If you’ve been curious, this is your sign to take the first step.

🌬️💜We often think of self-care as massages, skincare, or time off…
but one of the most powerful forms of self-care is something you do every minute of the day: breathing.
When you support healthy breathing patterns, you support:
✨ A calmer nervous system
✨ Deeper, more restorative sleep
✨ Less jaw tension
✨ Better oxygen delivery
✨ Improved focus and energy
✨ Long-term airway health
Breathing well isn’t a luxury — it’s foundational.
Myofunctional therapy helps retrain oral posture and breathing habits so your body can function the way it was designed to.
Taking care of your breath is taking care of your whole self. 💫
