I had never seen the umbilical cord like this before, I thought it was just a little tube that fed the baby when it was inside the uterus and that was it, but nooooo, now I know it's 2 arteries and 1 vein... the vein carries oxygenated, nutrient-rich blood and the arteries carry deoxygenated blood, waste products (Carbon Dioxide) and nutrient-depleted blood through the placenta and into the bloodstream to get rid of it.
Each one plays an important role in keeping us alive before birth. Our nature is so complex, so minutely detailed that we need to exist. That's why it's important to cut the umbilical cord after three minutes so the placenta can return all the blood and complete its process.
