In all my trainings for depression, anxiety, PTSD, and grief there is a common theme that helps...shifting your thinking. If you're struggling, try to find just one thing that brings you joy or one thing that you're thankful for. Our minds are not wired for happiness genetically, they are wired for survival. Therefore, we are all born with a negativity bias. In order to transform this we have to shift our focus to something positive and really we need five positives for every one negative. What is one thing you are thankful for or one thing that brings you joy?

Does your anxiety get the best of you sometimes? I know some amazing techniques both with Somatic and Brainspotting that can help you conquer your anxiety. One trick I like to use is spelling my name backwards three times. This is a distraction technique that allows for one to stop the flow of their thoughts in order to reinsert a more positive thought. My favorite is "I'm going thr best I can under the circumstances."
