One thing’s for sure, it’s been a LONG pandemmy winter. As the weather heats up to a balmy 60° you probably picture the summer days ahead.

Of days on the beach, at the pool, on the bike, and all sorts of occasions where more skin is showing.

Perhaps like myself after the longest, laziest winter, you’re ready to be shreddy (and hopefully having a healthier relationship with food and fitness).

The biggest mistake you’re already making? You haven’t started yet.

Time and again my DMs swell in May. Just as the sleeves are coming off and the a/c is already turning on, people are fired up and panicked about getting to their goal weight in time. But the thing about diets? They take time.

Even if you jump right in on May 1 with a goal of 10-20lbs lost, your body is responsive immediately, and let’s say you are the only person ever to not hit any plateaus. Even at an average loss of one pound per week this means possibly 10-20 weeks of dieting.

This means taking the entire summer TO diet. This means dieting THROUGH pool parties.
This means hitting your goal AFTER summer.

Which is fine and actually quite awesome as far as the long term goes. But it also means delaying a process and result you may have been ready to start March 12. Like... right meow as you’re reading this. That you’re dieting more for Halloween than you are summer.

So to all those out there looking to be just a bit leaner and lighter as the days get warmer and brighter: A gentle reminder to start sooner than later and just get it over with.

A healthy diet shouldn’t be a crash diet. A sustainable diet won’t be one that’s rushed and risks your health. Starting now rather than May will likely prove to have as much psychological payoff as physical.

PS if you’re heading into the warmer months a little heavier and softer, not intending to diet but in a healthy and positive place with food, the scale, and your body: that’s bomb AF and I’m proud of you.

20 YEARS!!!!

20 years ago asked me to be his girlfriend and I said yes. We were just two people who worked at a movie theatre and became the best of friends which we still are to this very day. No cell phones, no social media, just two kids that fell in love and here we are, two beautiful girls and an amazing life I wouldn’t trade for anything in the world.

I wouldn’t change a thing about the last 20 years and I love everything about the life we’ve built together. I love you endlessly and I’m so thankful that we were put in each other’s paths all those years ago.

Here’s to 100 more years of being Booba’s! 🥂

Maybe you’re ready.
Or maybe you’re scared.
No one can talk you into starting.
Do you know what’s scarier than starting something new?
Allowing fear, unpredictability, change, to stop you from growing.

You are capable, there will never be a perfect time, so get going today.

One thing I know about me is that I can do hard things and if I can then so can you.

I’m no different than you. I work, I have two babies, I have a house I constantly have to clean, laundry, and yet I ensure I have that time to work on me for me.

My friend, quit doubting your abilities, we women? We run the world. We do whatever our minds are set to do. You wanna feel healthier? Happier? You want to be more fit? LETS GET IT GOING.

Happy International women’s day, I hope we all start being loud about our wants and start taking actions to get them!

There will be days you wanna quit,

There will be days you don’t wanna show up
There will be days you don’t see progress
There will be days you question the process

These days?

Are so incredibly needed.

These days are when your mental toughness is tested the most.
These are the days you may feel like you’ve failed,
But these are the days you will learn the most.

On days I wanna quit,
I pump myself up with music, with a book, with positive self talk.

The morning I don’t wanna show up,
I remember why, why I even started showing up in the first place (I picture my babies, I picture me depressed hating how I look & feel).

It’s okay to feel fatigued, overwhelmed, hell, just plain exhausted.

But it’s not okay to QUIT.
I refuse to allow myself to ever QUIT.
Quitting isn’t an option.

Failure doesn’t equal quitting. Failure means you did wrong, now get back up and try it differently, try it again until you succeed it.

You dominate your mind and when you begin teaching it that it is stronger than what it thinks it is then you become UNSTOPPABLE.

"I'll do it tomorrow' is one of the worst things you can say to yourself. 

Every time you put things off you tell your subconscious that what you’re trying to do is not a priority therefore it doesn’t matter so you’re brain 🧠 doesn’t bother in helping you achieve it.

The only way to develop a winning mindset is to do what you say you'll do and do it promptly! The less you let it roll over to tomorrow, the less stress builds and the more self-discipline is instilled. 

When it comes to doing something I like to follow the 5 second rule. The 5 second rule is pretty simple. If you have an instinct to act on a goal, you must physically move within 5 seconds or your brain will kill it.

Do this with consistency and you would not believe the positive impact it has on productivity, stress levels and feeling organized. 

Stop letting yourself down by constantly putting things off until tomorrow.
