Our March Boxer of the Month -
Rich & Cindy Ursiak
Starting in October of 2024, Rich made sure to make Rock Steady Boxing a priority in his life to fight his Parkinson’s. And he continues to do this in spite of a demanding work schedule that necessitates no RSB one week every month due to being on call. Rich exercises with determination and keeps going even when the going is tough! With his wife Cindy wearing gloves and joining all the workouts, she adds a feisty spark and levity. With Rich & Cindy in class, the fun and energy level goes up and everyone works hard. Great job to you both!!!

Our February Boxer of the Month - Mary Vincenti

Mary only comes once per week to boxing because of other commitments, but she is a faithful attender (even though she lives roughly an hour away!). She really enjoys moving and grooving to the music as we go through our workout routine. She has smooth moves for a gal her age! And, despite some physical challenges, she consistently keeps fighting back! Then there are always the punny jokes that she shares with George and the other boxers. They bring a smile to everyone’s face after a hard workout. Thank you, Mary, for being a pleasant participant at Rock Steady Boxing in Tunkhannock!

Our January Boxer of the Month - Carl Pedley
Coming up on two years with Rock Steady Boxing, Carl has really flourished in his 11AM class. He loves joking around with his fellow boxers, but most of all he enjoys making fun of Coach Kathy in a good-hearted but funny way. You’ll catch him constantly “yawning” at the coach and asking her if she’s been napping behind the desk! But don’t let his joking around fool you - he still puts in big effort to work hard at the boxing & exercises.

Our November Boxer of the Month - Donny Walsh - Quickly coming up on his one year anniversary of boxing at Rock Steady Boxing, Donny has proven to be a dedicated and enthusiastic fighter. He has learned and consistently demonstrates good technique with the boxing routines and also with the wide variety of exercises in the program including all the Parkinson specific exercises. You can see he wants to fight this disease with all he’s got!
Donny, keep up the good work!
Our boxers love to rib each other and joke around! Donny quickly modified his certificate to read Boxer of the Decade and sent to his buddy Jerry. Jerry in great fun and jest joked that the award was rigged! Lol
