πŸ“’ OUR FAVORITE HOME CARE PRODUCTS ❗️

One of the most important part of your health is learning to self manage. This can be challenging for many. Check out some of these great tools that can help you get out and stay out of pain!

Pain Management:
1) Massage Guns- Muscle tension and spasms can often be alleviated with a percussive device like a massage gun. The rapid moving head helps to increase circulation and reduce spasms as well as pain.

2) Ice Packs- Ice is recommended to reduce pain immediately following many injuries or strenuous events.

3) Topical Analgesics- Many lotions and creams have a cooling or warming effect to help keep moving. Ultimately, the best way to feel better sooner is to do move your body.

Prevention:
1) Roller- A foam roller or other types of rollers, have been found to break up adhesions in the muscle and fascia. It is best to use a foam roller before or after exercise to keep you moving.

2) Resistance Bands- Part of recovery and prevention is to strengthen a weakened area. An easy and affordable product to help with that is a resistance bands.

3) Standing Desk- If you have a sedentary job or find your work station ergonomics could be improved, consider a standing desk. This helps to alleviate low back stress as well as improve your breathing and circulation.

HAVING TROUBLE SLEEPING? πŸ’€

πŸ•˜1) Turn down the lights at least an hour before you begin to sleep. Reduce screen time and blue lights 2 hours before you want to fall asleep. This helps your body naturally produce melatonin to help stabilize you circadian rhythm. Eye masks have been shown to help some people have more REM sleep over a 4 week period.

✨2) Setting the right temperature is also very important in signaling your body that it is time to sleep. Our bodies naturally have a dip in core temperature when we sleep. Research shows 65 degrees Fahrenheit is the best temperature for a bedroom.

πŸŒ™ 3) If you are a side sleeper, it may be helpful to use a pillow between your knees or under your arm. This helps contour the body to reduce stress on joints and relaxes muscles. Neck pillows should support the contour of the neck and just cradle the head. One easy TRICK is rolling a towel and placing it in the pillow case. You are able to modify the thickness of the towel based on your neck contour.

πŸ’€ 4) Consistency is key. Shutting the lights off, setting the right temperature, and your pre sleep routine is only helpful if you are consistent. Your CIRCADIAN RHYTHM will thank you!

Chiropractors are skilled in various types of manual manipulation techniques. Individualized care consists of your chiropractor tailoring their techniques to best suit your body, your condition, and your goals. An adjustment typically uses a high velocity but low impact thrust to manipulate a joint that may feel restricted with normal range of motion. An HVLA adjustment however, is not always necessary to achieve better range of motion or reduce pain. Low force techniques are a great option for anyone who may feel stiff but does not like feeling a β€œpop” or hearing a β€œcrack” noise.

One undeniable fact is that water is essential to human life. This does not including other liquid drinks such as juice, soda, or coffee. Many drinks, including coffee, have a negative effect on hydration. If you are experiencing fatigue, excess muscle soreness, or migraines then this may be a sign you are dehydrated.

Helpful tips:
1) Set a reminder on your phone to schedule times to drink your water.

2) Reduce drinking a lot of fluids suddenly. Gradual sipping helps to reduce the urge to use the restroom every 10 minutes.

3) Flavor your water with natural ingredients such as fruits and herbs. This makes drinking water much more enjoyable for most.
