One of the most important part of your health is learning to self manage. This can be challenging for many. Check out some of these great tools that can help you get out and stay out of pain!
Pain Management:
1) Massage Guns- Muscle tension and spasms can often be alleviated with a percussive device like a massage gun. The rapid moving head helps to increase circulation and reduce spasms as well as pain.
2) Ice Packs- Ice is recommended to reduce pain immediately following many injuries or strenuous events.
3) Topical Analgesics- Many lotions and creams have a cooling or warming effect to help keep moving. Ultimately, the best way to feel better sooner is to do move your body.
Prevention:
1) Roller- A foam roller or other types of rollers, have been found to break up adhesions in the muscle and fascia. It is best to use a foam roller before or after exercise to keep you moving.
2) Resistance Bands- Part of recovery and prevention is to strengthen a weakened area. An easy and affordable product to help with that is a resistance bands.
3) Standing Desk- If you have a sedentary job or find your work station ergonomics could be improved, consider a standing desk. This helps to alleviate low back stress as well as improve your breathing and circulation.
