Can Menopause Be Reversed? Dr Chudi Explains

Simple Answer:
❌ No—there is currently no proven way to reverse menopause.
Once menopause is established (12 months without a period), it is a natural, permanent biological transition.

Can drugs reverse menopause?

❌ No approved medications can restart natural ovarian function.

Some hormones (like estrogen therapy) can relieve symptoms (hot flashes, dryness), but they do NOT reverse menopause or restore fertility.

What about claims online?

Some experimental research (like ovarian rejuvenation or PRP) is being studied, but there is no strong, reliable evidence yet that it reverses menopause or leads to consistent pregnancies.

Evidence-Based Options (What CAN be done):

1. Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT): Helps symptoms, protects bone health

2. Lifestyle: Exercise, calcium, vitamin D for long-term health

Fertility option:

If pregnancy is desired after menopause → IVF with donor eggs is the most effective and established option
