New this Fall: Liz & Lizzy are excited to introduce a Seeking Safety Group specifically for adults navigating PTSD and/or substance abuse. This is a unique opportunity for healing and growth.

Week 5 summer camp wrapup! This week was packed with progress and proud moments for all our campers. We saw significant strides in everything from overcoming sensory challenges and learning to follow multi-step tasks, to important skills like listening and following instructions from those in charge.

For our newest riders, the joy of learning to steer their ponies independently was a huge win. We also celebrated the pure excitement of trotting for the very first time, the concentration of learning to post on the lunge line, and then seeing them confidently put it into action on their own. Others truly mastered navigating a busy ring at the trot. (And yes, we even fit in a fun game of Pin the Tail on Minnie!)

There was truly so much to be proud of this week!

This month, we stand in solidarity with the disability community, celebrating their pride, advocating for their rights, and continuing our mission to empower individuals of all abilities.

The Disability Pride Flag is a powerful symbol, and each color tells an important story:

Red ❤️: Represents physical disabilities.

Yellow 💛: Signifies cognitive and intellectual disabilities, and neurodiversity.

White 🤍: For invisible and undiagnosed disabilities.

Blue 💙: Highlights emotional and psychiatric disabilities, including mental illness.

Green 💚: Acknowledges disabilities like blindness, deafness, and other sensory impairments.

Happy 15th Gotcha Day to our incredible Tink! 🎉 Fifteen years ago, that drive to Connecticut was absolutely worth it – she's been a solid, loving member of our herd ever since. So many riders have learned to steer and trot thanks to her patient guidance. Tink loves playing games, and seriously, is there a more photogenic horse in the barn?

Happy National Farriers Week! Let's take a moment to appreciate the unsung heroes of hoof care – our amazing farriers! Their skill and dedication in maintaining our horses' hooves are absolutely essential, ensuring their health, balance, and ready to work happily for our riders.

We're so grateful for all the hard work that goes into this demanding profession. And while we missed getting a photo of Scott Previte this year, we couldn't resist sharing this sweet moment of his dog enjoying some well-deserved camper cuddles. It's a little glimpse into the full picture of the barn community that farriers like Scott help create!

Another incredible week wrapped up at summer camp here in Tewksbury! 🐴 Week 4 saw our riders truly blossom, gaining confidence as they honed essential skills. We cheered on countless milestones: independent cantering, independent trotting, finding their stride cantering on the lunge line, and mastering those tricky diagonals! These foundational skills are setting them up for good things to come.

And the campers had a blast playing "Whoa & Go," their own version of red light, green light, to practice their stops and starts! (pics at the end)

Share the Healing Power of Horses! Do you know someone living with cancer or Parkinson's Disease who could benefit from a unique and FREE program? We're looking for Horses for Healing participants to experience the remarkable benefits of spending time with horses. The session is 6 weeks long, starting on Monday, October 13, at 1 pm. This program offers a wonderful opportunity to find joy, relaxation, and stress reduction through bonding with these incredible animals. Beyond the emotional support, riding can also help develop balance, coordination, and body awareness.
