Rotator cuff tears present with varying degrees of tear severity and loss of function. Typical symptoms such as shoulder pain and weakness often progress. Shown in this MRI image is a full thickness tear. Some patients with this type of injury may have the inability to raise the arm- while others may simply have full range of motion and mildly diminished strength. The latter was present is this 60yo active male- who is scheduled for arthroscopic rotator cuff repair. 🏬
