Each year on International Women’s Day, March 8, the Zonta International community celebrates both International Women’s Day and Zonta Rose Day. To honor extraordinary women in our community, the Zonta Club of Olean presents a yellow rose along with an invitation to its International Dinner.

One of this year’s Yellow Rose Day recipients is Dr. Jessica Witte from the Olean Medical Group. She was nominated by Zonta member Eileen Wallace, who shared:

“Jessica is a local woman who returned home after receiving her medical degree. We are truly blessed to have such a caring doctor who always makes time to discuss your problems and give great advice. I’ve been seeing her for three years, and I haven’t felt this good in many years. She steered me in the right direction to improve my overall physical health.”

Dr. Witte’s dedication to her patients and her commitment to serving our community truly embody the spirit of Yellow Rose Day.

The yellow rose was historically adopted by suffragettes as a symbol of friendship, respect, and support for women’s rights. Over time, it has become a meaningful emblem of recognition and celebration on International Women’s Day.
