A new 4-week meditation course starting Wednesday, April 22 is now available for registration. Learn a profound breath practice that helps transform reactive habits and allows new possibilities to emerge.
Many of us experience subtle, yet powerful patterns of behavior, thought, and emotion that shape how we feel and relate to the world leading to feelings of anxiety and overwhelm, a sense of longing and disconnection, or a general lack of vitality or meaning.
In this course, you will be guided to:
- stabilize your attention
- recognize reactivity without the judgement that often accompanies it
- learn the 9 Breathings of Purification
- open energetic pathways to discover an inherent source of support and vitality
Join us on May 2 for a spring energy boost!
Free event. Please register at www.oleanmeditation.org

As the Olean Meditation Center has grown and expanded over the last five years, it has attracted an active and vibrant group of people from varying spiritual, religious and cultural backgrounds and interests who have found a warm and welcoming community there.
Today, the Olean Meditation Center is home to the Southern Tier Sangha, the Hindu Society, Kriya Yoga Meditation sponsored by the Assisi Institute in Rochester, many yoga classes weekly, Qigong and Tai Chi classes, weekly meditation.
It also sponsors special programs throughout the year such as a well-loved Sound Bath meditation, retreats on Zen Buddhism, plant-based cooking classes and hosts interfaith meetings on shared interests such as compassion, generosity and gratitude.
A couple of years ago, the Olean Meditation Center purchased an adjacent parcel of land that was developed as a park-like area. It includes a path for walking meditation which leads to a platform where occasionally group meditations are held. The park setting is open to public use.
The Olean Meditation Center adds spice to spirituality. Enriching programs for the whole family, such as Mindful Families, are exciting opportunities for young children to attend with their parents to enjoy yoga, meditation, cooking together, enjoying nature walks and hiking out to the platform.
When the center realized teens need support, empowerment and stress relief, it designed the afterschool series Tai Chi & Qigong for Youth.
The Olean Meditation Center continues to respond to rising needs in the community with a broad wisdom and informed perspective on the issues. It has been a good neighbor to the City of Olean and its members are active in volunteering throughout the community,
As a place of spiritual enrichment, the Olean Meditation Center brings a strengthening presence to the city as it continues to reach for opportunities to support and encourage compassion and goodwill throughout the community.
