RMS Patient Advocacy & Consulting is the product of a long-term illness of my dad, Bob. He had a botched brain surgery on September 8, 2016. He went from a fully functioning dad, to living the last four and a half years of his life in a skilled nursing facility. As a family, we were told nothing went wrong, but clearly something did. My journey began to find out what happened in that operating room that horrible day. I had to learn to navigate a system that was not, and is not meant to be navigated by those outside of the healthcare system. I had to educate myself on how the healthcare system works. It was a very difficult and frustrating task which ultimately led me to become a Board Certified Patient Advocate. It is my goal to help others navigate the healthcare system, advocate for them and make certain they understand their rights and options afforded to them by our healthcare system.
