You have lived so much of your life for others. Now, it's your time to dust off some old dreams or possibly create new ones. Intuition is one of our most powerful tools for making positive changes in our lives. That inner voice guides us towards what feels right, even when our logical mind tells us something different. The trouble is that we often ignore our intuition in favor of what we think we should be doing. We allow our heads to rule our hearts, and as a result, we can end up feeling disconnected from our life purpose.

Midlife is a time when many of us start to question the choices we've made up until this point. It's a time for reflection and change, which means listening to our intuition more than ever. Trusting your intuition is the first step toward making the positive changes you desire in your life.

Join this FREE Masterclass, where I will share three ways to develop your intuition. The same tools I used to transform my dream of owning a counseling and wellness center into reality. https://facebook.com/events/s/dream-boldly-midlife-women/747366033190981/

Ladies, it’s okay if you’re not always strong. It’s okay if you feel weak. It’s okay if you’ve made mistakes, failed, have regrets, feel embarrassed and ashamed. We hear so much about being “strong”. Yes, we want to be strong, but strength is built from all of our mistakes, weak moments, and the traumas we endure. We won’t feel strong everyday and that’s okay. Reach out for help, find compassionate people who have the empathy to be by your side as you experience your weak moments. Seek out friends and support who will not ridicule you for your weakness and who won’t simply direct you to “think positive” or to “just forget about your pain”. Those aren’t your people. Your people will understand the days you cry, feel week, and can’t seem to find the strength to snap out of it. They will come to you as you sit in the dark. They will bring the light to you. ❤ You are strong just for getting up each day and trying. 💪🏻❤️Always remember that!

I am so inspired by my coaching client, Barb Warner. Barb wrote this book, “Keep Your Fork, Dessert is on the Way” when she was 76. She had no prior writing experience but knew she had a lot to share about how to live your best life after retirement. Barb is now 84, and she hasn’t stopped. Her goal now is to share her book and wisdom with as many women as possible. I’m thrilled to work with her to make her dreams come true!

How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you were? I love this quote! It’s the best advice I would give anyone struggling with aging. Forget about the number! The more we focus on the number, the more we feel our age. There is so much to say, but you can order Barb’s book and read her advice on how to enjoy your life at any age! ~To The Woman Who Is Slowly Fading Away
To the woman who has lost her spark.
To the woman whose get up and go, has well and truly gone.
This is for you.
This is to remind you, that you don’t have to be everything to everyone, every day.
You didn’t sign up for that.
Remember when you used to laugh? Sing?
Throw caution to the wind?
Remember when you used to forgive yourself more quickly for not always being perfect.
You can get that back again.
You really can.
And that doesn’t have to mean letting people down or walking away.
It just means being kinder to you, feeling brave enough to say no sometimes.
Being brave enough to stop sometimes.
And rest.
It starts the moment you realise that you’re not quite who you used to be.
Some of that is good, some of that is not.
There are parts of you that need to be brought back.
And if anyone in your life is not okay with that…
they are not your people.
Your people will be glad to see that spark starting to light up again.
So, if you have been slowly fading away my friend,
this is the time to start saying yes to things that bring you joy
and no
to things that don’t.
It’s really pretty simple.~
~Donna Ashworth

Sadly, many women during midlife can relate to this. I am here to help you find your spark again. It's there still.....I promise you! :)

I used to have this funny idea that my journey of self-development had a start and finish. Quickly I realized how wrong I was. I thought one day I would wake up and say, “I’ve done it! I’m exactly who I want to be, and my life is exactly what I want it to be.” I thought I would be rid of all my past issues and pain and be the perfect version of myself.

When I look back on my life and reflect on the challenges, mistakes, weaknesses, and maladaptive behaviors I’ve worked through, I can confidently say that I have made some amazing changes in my life. However, I still have work to do. We all do and it’s okay.

I continue to uncover the shadows that have been lurking around me. The parts of me that I haven’t yet brought to the light to get to know. We all have our shadows. They are hard for us to see because they have been a part of us for a very long time. They developed as a way for us to protect ourselves from the pain and difficulties of life when we were too young to know any other way. They stepped in to help us in times of stress, crisis, and emotional pain with maladaptive handling patterns.

So as the Fall turns into Winter, I will spend time reflecting, restoring, reviving, and renewing. I’ll love my shadows, so they don’t have to hide, but I’ll let them know that I don’t need them anymore. They can stop trying to protect me. They can just join me as I continue to heal, grow, learn, and do better every passing year.

I’m going to do something out of my comfort zone. I’m going to toot my own horn. Yikes, this feels weird, but I want to model that it’s okay to celebrate our successes. It’s important! Did you know that from a neuroscience perspective, when we celebrate our accomplishments, no matter how small, we release dopamine (one of the feel-good neurotransmitters.) It doesn’t matter how little the success is; when you celebrate your accomplishments, your brain doesn’t distinguish between how big or small it is. You will release dopamine, and you will feel good. This, in turn, creates a ripple effect. The more motivated you are, the more you want to succeed and accomplish, thus more productive and confident!

I encourage my clients to break projects down into smaller tasks & celebrate the accomplishment of each one.

I won this award back in June. A couple of reasons I waited to share 1) I didn’t want to brag, and 2) I minimized it.

Yes, it was part of a very large healthcare convention, but after I was nominated, I had to submit a lengthy, detailed application that was reviewed along with many others, and I was chosen as one of the top 100. They thought Flourish was a visionary model of delivering mental health. I believe it is as well! I’ve been thinking more about it, though, and I am proud.

I am proud of what I have created. I am proud of the fantastic group of talented practitioners who beside me to provide healing services to our community. I am pleased that I worked through the many obstacles I had to overcome. I am proud that I faced my fears & moved through them without losing focus on my vision.

I still have a way to get to where I see myself going, but I will celebrate this success. I will remind myself daily to celebrate all of my accomplishments, both big & small.

I may fail at some things and make mistakes. That’s okay.

Remember to celebrate all of your successes to get that dopamine hit, and face any obstacles you may encounter with faith and perseverance. If you need a coach along the way, I would be honored to work with you! Enjoy the journey! #
