The next meeting of the Courageous Hearts Cancer Support Group will be held tonight, Tuesday, November 18.

This cancer support group is for anyone who has had any type of cancer and takes place from 6-7:30pm on the third Tuesday of each month. It is in the lower level conference room at CRMH and will include a light meal.

If you plan to attend, an RSVP would be appreciated, but not required so we have an idea of how much food to prepare. RSVP to Tiffany Nix at Tiffany.Nix@carle.com or by calling 618-392-1668.

It's Perioperative Nurses Week!

Perioperative nurses handle the care of patients who need surgery or other invasive procedures. They interact with everyone involved, the patients, their families, the doctors, and other medical personnel involved to ensure their patient’s comfort.

Inside an operating room, perioperative nurses work as scrub nurses in charge of the instruments, or as circulating nurses who ensure the quality of nursing care throughout the procedure.

Pre and post-surgery, they are the nurses who ensure that the patients have all the information they need to continue healing and have the best possible care in the hospital. The job is frequently stressful, but nurses perform their duties cheerfully.

CRMH is lucky to have a wonderful Perioperative department here at Carle Richland. We appreciate the excellent care they give to their patients each day.

In honor of Veterans Day, Carle Richland held a flag raising ceremony on campus for staff members who were able to attend. The ceremony began with a few words from veteran team member, Joe Morris, and ended with the raising of the flag.

Recently, Leslie Shan, mental health first aid instructor for Carle Richland Memorial Hospital, spoke at the local Senior Center for their monthly Dine with a Doc program. Leslie talked about Seasonal Affective Disorder (S.A.D.) and what you can do to combat the effects of this during the winter months.

November 3rd-November 7th, is Radiologic Technologists Week!

Did you know X-rays were first discovered on November 8th, 1895. 129 years of X-rays and all its advancements throughout the years are a great reason to celebrate our team who make it all possible!

The radiology department plays a vital role in diagnosis and guiding treatment for patients through medical imaging. At Carle Richland Memorial Hospital, our team offers a range of modalities, including X-ray, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Mammography, Bone Densitometry, and Nuclear Medicine. Together, the radiology team supports nearly every area of patient care by providing essential diagnostic information for providers.

We appreciate all of our Rad Techs and hope you all have had a great week!

The Apothecary Shoppe Closing Early Today.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, The Apothecary Shoppe Pharmacy in West Salem will be closing at 4pm today, November 6. They will re-open with regular hours tomorrow, November 7.

The winners of the CRMH Pumpkin Painting Contest have been announced!!

Big congratulations to the Laboratory department whose gumball machine pumpkin had the most votes from our Facebook followers!

Then, Family Maternity Services won President's Choice for their ice cream cone pumpkin!

It was a fun contest amongst departments, thanks to the Patient Access department for hosting this each year. And thanks to all our Facebook followers for helping out and voting for your favorite pumpkin. Happy Halloween! 🎃

Carle Richland was excited to help recognize the students at Richland County Middle School this morning for earning the Character Trait Award for Respect. We dropped by with donuts for the students and Physical Therapy team members spoke with the kids about showing respect as well as demonstrating ways they can have better posture while sitting or standing so they can avoid issues later on.

Congratulations to the students on earning the Respect awards and thanks for allowing us to be a part of the celebration! 🎉
