Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Convenient Care Clinic at Carle Olney will be closing at 2pm today, Saturday, January 10. It will reopen at 8am with regular hours on Sunday, January 11.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. The CRMH Emergency Department is open 24 hours a day if you need immediate care.

Carle Richland Memorial Hospital welcomed the first baby of 2026 on Monday, January 5th. Lucian Fox Russelburg was born at 12:49 p.m. to proud parents Jacqueline Lafoya and Justin Russelburg. He weighed in at 6lbs 1oz and was 18 inches long. He is welcomed home by big sister, Aurora.

Congratulations to the family on your new bundle of joy! Carle Richland was happy to be a part of your birthing experience.

Carle Health experts have some tips on how to create and stick to New Year's resolutions.

“Everyone knows they need to do something, but they don’t know where to start. That overwhelming feeling can make it hard to even get started,” registered dietitian Kristina Adams-Smith said. “The challenge is making the change – be specific about your changes rather than ‘I need to be healthier and exercise more’. What does that look like for you?”

As part of our commitment to create the safest environment possible to receive care, Carle Health has updated temporary visitor guidelines and masking recommendations for all regions during this time of increased respiratory illness rates.

We urge all patients and visitors experiencing respiratory illness symptoms to wear a mask while at care facilities. Additionally, there should be no more than two visitors per patient room with each visitor being at least 18 years of age or older. We appreciate your support to reduce the circulation of illness in our communities.

Due to the New Year's Holiday, Carle Richland outpatient clinics will have reduced hours. Today, New Year's Eve, outpatient clinics, including, Carle Olney (Convenient Care clinic included), Carle West Salem and Carle Bridgeport will be closing at 2pm and will remain closed through New Year's Day.

The Apothecary Shoppe pharmacy in West Salem will be closing at 3pm today and will remain closed through New Year's Day.

All clinics and the pharmacy will reopen on Friday, January 2.

If you need immediate care, the CRMH Emergency Department is open to care for you.

Grief Support Group changes location.

Beginning January 2026, the CRMH Grief Support Group led by Roni Lambird, LSW, will be moving from the Heim Room at CRMH to the Home Care building located at 503 S. West Street in Olney. It will still occur the 2nd Monday of each month at 6pm.

Give yourself the gift of a new career this new year!

Carle Regional EMS is once again offering the Basic EMT course. Successful completion of the course will allow you to take the exam to become a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician. The course will be held on Wednesday evenings beginning January 14th at the Carle Regional EMS Training Center in Olney and will be completed before the end of May.

Many jobs are available in the area and you could potentially be working in a new, rewarding career with excellent pay and benefits by June. For more information, course requirements, fees and registration please contact:

Late last week, team members from Carle Richland, along with some family members, volunteered at the Bucket Brigade at the Olney City Park Christmas Lights Display. They enjoyed greeting everyone who came through to enjoy the lights.

The City does a fantastic job with the Christmas display each year and Carle Richland is happy to be able to do a small part to help.

We are excited to create this new space for team members to go to refresh and relax. Thanks to local dollars from the Carle Health Center for Philanthropy, this area should be ready by springtime!

Giving it all you’ve got can really take a lot out of you. That’s why the Greatest Needs Committee at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital recently awarded a $7,500 grant to create a new green space designed for hospital employees. The space, expected to be completed by spring 2026, will ultimately benefit patients who’ll receive care from team members who are more refreshed, centered, focused and ready to take on the challenge of the day.

Each year, we like to give these simple reminders for how to easily and safely wrap those presents for your loved ones.

Your body is already under enough stress during the holiday season, so take these easy steps to eliminate the pain with gift wrapping. Carle Richland Memorial Hospital Rehab Services has provided tips to improve ergonomics with wrapping gifts to avoid pain and injuries.

• AVOID wrapping on the floor – prevent excessive forward bending and awkward positions for an extended period of time
• Use a table or counter as a workstation
• Use proper lifting mechanics – When lifting a large item, be sure to bend with your knees and keep the item close to your body. Don’t bend forward and keep your back straight.
• Keep frequently used items within close reach
• Use gift bags – this is an easy fix to eliminate the time spent on wrapping
• Wrap in shifts and take frequent breaks
