If your heel pain feels extra rude in December…you’re not imagining it. Cold weather makes the plantar fascia tighten, so those first steps in the morning can feel like your feet are personally offended. 😬

Warm socks, supportive shoes at home, and avoiding long stretches of barefoot time can make a big difference this month.

And if every step feels like your heel is filing a complaint?
We can help get things calmed down — winter shouldn’t hurt this much. 👣

It takes one slick sidewalk in Chicago to turn a normal walk into an accidental figure-skating routine. If you’ve had a few “almost wiped out” moments already…you’re not alone. 😅

Icy slips are one of the biggest causes of ankle sprains this time of year.
If you twist, roll, or land funny — even if it “seems fine” — pain can show up a day or two later.

When in doubt, get it checked. Your ankle shouldn’t feel like it’s auditioning for a weather report.

Stay upright out there. Chicago ice shows no mercy.

Some winter boots look great…but your feet may disagree.
If your arches are barking or your ankles feel wobbly, your boots might be giving you the cold shoulder. 🥶

Good boots should keep you warm and keep you supported — not leave you walking like a baby deer on ice.

If your winter shoes are causing more “ow” than “wow,” bring them in. We’ll help you find something that actually treats your feet right. 👣

Long flights, road trips, and hours on your feet while traveling can take a toll — especially in cold weather. A few small habits can make a big difference:

Holiday Travel Foot Checklist:
• Wear supportive shoes (skip the flimsy slip-ons)
• Stretch your calves and ankles during long travel days
• Stand and move every 60–90 minutes
• Use compression socks if you experience swelling
• Keep your feet warm — cold muscles tighten and ache faster
• Stay hydrated (it helps circulation more than people think)

If foot pain pops up during or after your holiday trip, we’re here to help you get back on your feet comfortably.

The holiday season can be tough on your feet — especially if you’re managing diabetes. Between colder weather, dry skin, and more time on your feet, small issues can turn into bigger problems quickly.

A few simple reminders this month:
• Check your feet daily for cuts, cracks, or redness
• Keep skin moisturized (avoid lotion between the toes)
• Make sure winter socks and shoes aren’t too tight
• Never ignore numbness, tingling, or new pain
• Stay warm — poor circulation + cold weather is a rough combo

If something doesn’t look or feel right, getting it checked early can prevent complications later. We’re here to help you stay safe and comfortable all winter long.

Chicago Winter Be Like… 🥶👣 Winters hit hard - even your feet feel it.
Cold weather tightens muscles and tendons, which can make everyday foot or ankle pain feel worse this time of year.

If your feet are feeling stiff, achy, or “frozen” in the mornings, you’re not imagining it — it’s common in the winter months.
Gentle stretching, supportive footwear, and staying warm can help ease some of the discomfort.

If the pain sticks around, we’re here to help keep you moving comfortably this winter.
