JOB SUMMARY:
The Olympia Bupe Clinic at Capital Recovery Center is a low-barrier walk-in clinic that provides
medication-assisted treatment along with peer recovery support. Our services are targeted to
people who have barriers to participating in traditional treatment services. Our patients include
folks who are homeless, justice-involved, have co-occurring medical and/or mental health
challenges, or who are at risk of overdose. We provide same-day services, including medication
(suboxone/buprenorphine).
The Bupe Clinic Peer Recovery Specialistβs role will be primarily to support clinic patients in designing and pursuing their own recovery. They will also assist with new patient intakes, and
participate in care coordination meetings. The position is working in the clinic, and conducting follow-up meetings with patients to support them in their recovery and help them access other community resources (housing/shelter, employment assistance, basic needs, etc).
In order to meet qualifications, candidates must have lived experience as a consumer of mental health or substance use services, Opioid Use Disorder preferred.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
β Greet, register, and complete intakes with new clinic patients.
β Assist individuals to access community mental health services, substance use treatment,
housing services, income assistance, and primary health care/dental services.
β Provide ongoing case management services in a coordinated care environment to
individuals accessing clinic services, completing detailed progress notes and tracking
referral attainment.
β Attend weekly team meetings and case conferences, and meetings with other service
providers.
β Collaborate with other service providers to ensure clientsβ needs are met effectively.
β Provide services and maintain records to meet contract requirements, State
requirements, and agency policies/procedures.
β Complete all necessary training.
β Perform other duties as assigned by the OBC Manager or Executive Director.
β Clinic flow- reading UTOX results, rooming participants
β Get clinic setting ready and organized before clinic starts(i.e.- intake packets, UTOX
results sheets, assigning providers to their rooms, sign in tracking sheet, opening rooms)
β Assisting the pharmacy tech with med drop
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION/SKILLS
β Ability to be productive in a variety of work environments, including office, outdoors,
and other service settings.
β Have reliable transportation.
β Valid Driver License and proof of insurance
β Have a clear understanding of services available in Thurston County as they pertain to community mental health services, substance use treatment, primary health services, job training, educational services, relevant housing services, housing placement assistance, income assistance, employment assistance, and medical assistance.
β Have a working knowledge of basic office machines and protocol, Microsoft word and
Excel, email, data entry and Google docs.
β Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a member of the OBC team.
β Certified Peer Counselor
β WA State Agency Affiliated Counselor credential, or ability to complete this process within three months of hire.
