Hard to believe that we have been in our current Olympia Champion Chiropractic Center location just under 10 years. This month the three of us have been working on a refresh to get ready to welcome Dr. Kirk Petheram and his beautiful wife, Renee, to the Champion team in August.
We still have about 2 more weeks of work on the office to finish it up. It sure is looking "purdy: (as my mom would say). Amazing what a fresh coat of paint, furniture upgrades, and new art will do to a place.
We hope you will stop by and meet the team soon! 2405 Evergreen Park DR SW Suite, B1, Olympia.

Congratulations on 33 years Dr. Steve!

Day #9 Long CV Symptoms: Brain Neurotransmitter Imbalances
I made this very simplified graph for you to understand the pathways that make melatonin. Many of my clients come to me with what I call a "melatonin hangover." They are taking a ton of melatonin trying to fix a tryptophan or serotonin issue.
The client presents with depression, anxiety, brain fog, irritability, anger issues, headaches, dizziness, nausea, vivid dreams, nightmares, stomach cramping or digestive issues.
Melatonin isn't a supplement that is intended for long term use. If you are having sleep issues, you need to look upstream in this cycle.
There are many people that can't breakdown melatonin properly in their detoxification pathways through the liver - which causes the above mentioned symptoms.
LC seems to interrupt the tryptophan pathway which causes a host of problems. I couldn't fit them all on my slide. This gives you the basics.
Many of these issues are resolved once the LC is addressed.
If you identify with this graph, it's time to make an appointment with me. Olympia office (360)438-6559

Day #8 LC Symptoms: Idiopathic Edema of the face, hands, legs or feet.
This one is really interesting. I have had several clients with it. They go through the full workup with their cardiologist but there is no reason for it found by the doctors. Of course the drug hydrochlorothiazide is prescribed, but what about the root cause? What about the "WHY" is this happening??
It appears that because the viral infection hasn't been addressed it can cause dirty lymph, slow adrenal function, liver disruption, and disruption to the HPA axis.
So, get to the root cause and get back in the game.

LC Symptoms Day #7: Headaches
This is one of the more difficult issues to address. Some people get great results with cranial sacral work, chiropractic care, and massage therapy.
Other people need mitochondria work, histamine intolerance work, immune pathogen work, along with brain work that I would use with someone that has had a concussion.
And yet others have had to go to a vestibular practitioner, use a hyperbaric chamber, or apply patches that I can't mention here, but you have heard about.
If you would like to talk about the headaches that you have encountered in the last 5 years and explore options please contact me for an appointment at (360)438-6559

LC Symptoms Day #6: Skin
Itchy skin, dry and scaly skin, rash, eczema, and psoriasis.
LC seems to interrupt the skin barrier and liver function. Skin healing is a multi level approach that takes a bit of time to get the new layers generating and dietary changes to shut off the response.
Do you have the LC rash or skin issues? Give the office a call on Tuesday to schedule your appointment at (360)438-6559

Day 3 LC Symptoms: Respiratory
Chronic cough, wheezing, shortness of breath, difficulty catching you breath when exercising, low O2 readings, difficulty breathing when you lay down, new diagnosis of asthma in the last five years, sneezing, nasal congestion that won't go away, and burning in the lungs. These are all LC symptoms that are often missed as being part of the LC diagnosis.
Are you suffering from any of these? It's time to get your wind back in your sales. Call (360)438-6559 to schedule.

It's Day #5! LC Symptom: Ears
LC (long covid) has an affinity for the ears and ear canal. Symptoms that you might experience are: Ringing in the ears, buzzing, or humming noise in the ears. Ear aches, ear infections, liquid draining out of the ears. Feeling a constant fullness in the ear that your doctor can't find a reason for. Vertigo that is related to the ear canal. Hearing loss or hearing sensitivity. You may also notice an increase in ear wax build-up that you didn't have before.
As you are starting to see, LC is very invasive and is affecting more people than we originally thought.
If you would like to learn more about your symptoms and how we can help, please call to schedule an appointment at (360)438-6559

Day #4 LC (long covid) Symptoms: Cardiac
As I have listed these symptoms for the last few days I have had patients ask me if everyone has to have all of these symptoms to be diagnosed with LC??? No. Some patients have had only a few of the symptoms while others have had many. Each LC case is different.
What I am doing with these posts is bringing awareness to the symptoms that have been plaguing you for the last five years that aren't improving.
Cardiac LC Symptoms:
Heart palpitations, chest pain or pressure, increased blood pressure, decreased blood pressure, unstable blood pressure, POTS, congestive heart failure, tachycardia, heart attack, stroke, blood clots, you can hear your heart beat in your ear (you are never supposed to hear your heart unless you are doing intense exercise).
The test your practitioner might run is a NT-Pro BNP blood test. N-Terminal Pro Brain Natriuretic Peptide is what that stands for. This is a hormone produced by the heart that reflects the pressure inside of it. I have linked a study on it in the comments so you can see the relation to LC.
Is your ticker not quite ticking right? Schedule a heart sound recorder exam with me and lets get your heart back on track. (360)438-6559

19/05/2025

Day 2: LC symptoms in the Digestive Tract
Symptoms of LC Digestion are: abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, vomiting, nausea, loss of appetite, gas, bloating, gastritis, reflux, and gastroparesis.
You can have these symptoms randomly, daily, worse in the start of the day and better at the end of the day. Or, better at the start of the day and worse at the end of the day.
In the last five years have these symptoms worsened? Are they new to you? You find that you aren't able to find resolution for the symptoms without invasive drug use in the last five years.
I would love to work with you to help you resolve this LC issue. Please give me a call at (360)438-6559 to schedule your appointment.
