The DC Breastfeeding Coalition announced that the first Deaf and Hard of Hearing Breastfeeding Week will take place this year during National Month, from September 16 through September 22. The theme for this first-of-its-kind observance will be Close the Gap Bridge the Divide: Establish Breastfeeding Support Access. The DC Breastfeeding Coalition will collaborate with the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Breastfeeding Collective to celebrate this observance through a series of virtual online events. There are only few spots left in our Teens Biking to Destinations class on Aug. 12-15 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Avanti High School! Don't miss the chance to learn bike safety skills and earn a new bike! Its free!

Our TBD program teaches youth basic bicycle safety, handling skills, and maintenance through hands-on activities and group rides on neighborhood streets. TBD aims to provide a foundation for youth in their growth on and off the bike. To better equip participants, those who complete the program will receive a brand-new bike, helmet, lock, and set of lights.

Our TBD program is funded with a grant from WSDOT and is administered by Cascade Bicycle Club. The funding comes from Washington’s Climate Commitment Act (CCA). The CCA supports Washington’s climate action efforts by putting cap-and-invest dollars to work reducing climate pollution, creating jobs, and improving public health. Information about the CCA is available at www.climate.wa.gov.
