Hello Everyone! I’m FINALLY getting to a point to try to get some control over closing the office. It was more devastating than I realized at the time.

I’m trying to get lists made of who needs their records. Most are in Olympia in storage so I have to pull them when I go back their on weekends (I haven’t been able to make it every weekend due to snow and ice over here in Goldendale🥶). I also now have a vehicle that I can bring boxes of files down here with me and a safe rental home to store them in.

I’m trying to find a good Patient Records Release Form too so I can send files electronically. The Postal Service here isn’t the best so email or fax will be the easiest option.

On the positive side, I love my new position and the people I work with!

For those of you waiting for glasses from Airways, I keep trying to call the lab and after several rings it says, “All service staff are busy on helping other customers. They don’t let me leave a message. I also continue to email as they advised to do in a letter they’d sent before my office closed. I have yet to get a response but I keep trying different times of the day. They close at 3:00pm (PST). I’m not sure if they’re that busy or short-staffed or both. I will keep trying daily and more than once per day…

I’m volunteering on a Vision Van in Aberdeen again today so I’m seeing patients all day. I’ll try to respond to messages as soon as I can. I AM working on things in the background even if it’s taking me a bit to respond to everyone.

Today I’ve been trying (again!) to get in touch with labs to make sure they have my updated shipping addresses. VSP lab in Folsom, CA, had sent out orders and they were sent back to them. I called one if the numbers I finally found and the person didn’t know the lab number but gave me an email address. So I’m waiting for a response from at least one of their contacts I’ve reached out to. I’m not avoiding anyone — I’ve been working daily on trying to get things squared away. I DID get patient charts and they’re locked away safely. I’m making a (long) list of people requesting records or prescriptions. I have no intention of deleting the email address (northwestvisioncenter@protonmail.com). I’m working through the emails and will respond as often as I can. Of course I’m also trying to find some fill-in work until I get onboarded at my new position.

And just a reminder, this wasn’t my intention to close (especially in just 3 days time!). I wouldn’t do that to my patients on purpose. I appreciate everyone and understand the frustration.

Many people have asked me where to get their glasses. I’ve done exams for a lot of patients who have been loyal to Capital Eyes Optical. Here’s a chance to check them out!

I just got back into town from Eastern WA (job hunt) and will read emails tomorrow and try to look up orders online. I will likely have to call labs (one is East Coast and the other is CA). My staff always handled these things and I’ve noticed that some pts have balances so I need to figure out.

I am at Pearle Vision in the Capital Mall now until they close at 6:00pm. If you were called at the beginning of last week that your glasses or contacts were in, come on by! Feel free to message on here or northwestvisioncenter@protonmail.com if you want to send encrypted email. I haven’t had time to forward phone messages at the old office number.

NORTHWEST VISION CENTER PC IS NOW PERMANENTLY CLOSED

I don't even know where to start but on Monday, April 8, 2024. We had to close the off office in 3 days due to back rent. We took advantage of every second and tried our best to notify patients to come pick up glasses and contacts but only a few seemed to make it in on such short notice.

I am in the process of organizing the best way to connect with everyone and dispense to those who have pick ups and also where to have the labs send the jobs that are pending. I have all of the dispensing trays safely with me and Pearle Vision along with Sexton Vision Group have been so kind to let me use a space in their office to dispense. The first block of time will be on Tuesday, April 16 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Pearle Vision Optical Staff has volunteered to do frame adjustments for my patients as well.

As you can imagine, to close an office that has been in business for 14 years takes some "doing". I am trying to figure out/organize the details to make it as streamline as possible.

SO SO SO many of you have been my patients for years, many who are even from my LensCrafter's days that started in 2002! I very much appreciate all of you and will miss you! Some patient's are understandably angry (as am I with the short notice) and I apologize for that. None of this was intentional as the last thing I wanted to do is to inconvenience anyone.

I'm aware that not everyone has Facebook but it seems to be the easiest way to post updates and such. Some have asked if I'm retiring or will be working elsewhere. I just can't bring myself to retire at this point (I wouldn't know what to do with myself and still have bills to pay) so I have been working on several options as far as future employment. Many of those options are local although I'm going through the interview process for a Rural Health Clinic/Hospital which would require us to move. I will be going there on April 18th and 19th (my brother Dallas's birthday ironically!). I will know more after that.

Pearle Vision is located at the following address at the JCPenney's end of the Capital Mall at: 625 Black Lake Blvd SW Suite 110, Olympia, WA 98502.

PLEASE DO NOT CALL THEM but instead contact me at:

This is an encrypted email and helps me keep track of who I've communicated with. Pearle will not have any information other that what I've posted.
