The Birth House is proud to be hosting as they offer birth preparation classes and postpartum/parenting support groups. Want to learn about baby wearing? There’s a class for that. Lactation support? Yes! Come meet other parents and learn from each other and the guest speakers that will share their words of encouragement and wisdom with you. Classes are available to the community regardless of where you are choosing to welcome your baby or where you gave birth. Everyone is welcome.

Thank you to everyone who came out to the picnic today, to Michelle and Megan for being on-call and taking care of the midwifery work of the day, and Jay for always serving up burgers and dogs for everyone. It was a great day with lots of babies and smiles. Seeing families come together and support each other is the best!

Thank you to everyone who supported the legislative efforts this year. I am happy to share the birth center bill passed and was signed by the governor this week!

Congratulations, Washington birth centers on the passing of HB1824!

As a refresher, members of AABC's Washington Association of Birth Centers showed up and provided testimony in support of this bill at the Washington House Health Care & Wellness Committee this Valentine's Day. It has now been signed into law by Governor Bob Ferguson!

This bill allows CABC Accreditation to substitute for DOH inspections, which streamlines the inspection process and supports the sustainability of birth centers! Woo hoo!

We are so proud of our WABC members for all of their hard work.
