June is Oral Health Month! 🦷🪥
Compared to other parts of the body, people are more likely to ignore problems that manifest in the mouth. Bleeding gums, pain, and infections are common problems that negatively impact physical health and quality of life. They affect how a person speaks, eats, and socializes. There are also more serious risks.

Most importantly, be sure to schedule regular cleanings and checkups with your dentist. Over 116 years ago, the first dental hygienist began practicing critical work that continues to advance in effectiveness. So, schedule a visit and be a part of the rich dental history we celebrate every June!

HAPPY SPRING!! Did you know that World Oral Health Day falls on the same day as the 1st day of spring?
Oral health is just as crucial as overall wellness. It aids in the preservation of a healthier mouth, gums, and teeth. Poor oral health may contribute to a plethora of serious health issues, including cardiovascular disease, obesity, strokes, respiratory difficulties, and preterm deliveries in expectant mothers.
Poor oral hygiene, gum disease, and untreated infections can increase the risk of heart disease. Bacteria in the mouth can enter the bloodstream, leading to inflammation that impacts blood vessels and the heart.
-Even if you have lost ALL of your teeth and are in dentures, it's very important to see your dentist at least once per year for a checkup.
-If you have healthy gums and teeth, two visits per year are typically enough.
-If you suffer from conditions like gum disease, tooth decay, or frequent cavities, your dentist may recommend more frequent visits, such as every 3-4 months.
-Pediatric dentists often recommend checkups every six months to monitor growing teeth, prevent cavities, and provide fluoride treatments.
