Northwest Resources is a Preferred Provider with most major medical insurance companies and managed care companies. PHILOSOPHY

Northwest Resources philosophy is firm in its belief that Chemical Dependency is a primary disease with biochemical factors, genetic factors, environmental, psychosocial and spiritual factors that influence its development and manifestations. The disease is progressive and often fatal. Chemical Dependency is characterized by impaired control over drinking, drug use, eating, compulsive spending and or other life damaging behaviors, with use continued despite adverse consequences and distortions in thinking. The addicted/chemically dependent—can and will make the irrational appear to be rational. NWR philosophy on treatment of the disease is firm in the belief that in order to be in recovery an individual has to move through the stages of change from pre-contemplative to contemplative preparation “action” and finally into maintenance. Many times a person can move back and forth, therefore needing ongoing assessment. The disease is a brain disease in its actions and changes one’s brain chemistry that can leave an individual with depression, social anxiety, panic and other mood disorders. Recovery does not have to be miserable and the brain damage most of the time may be repaired. This is why we have therapy that goes beyond talk therapy. With this philosophy, all patients of NWR will address, in their treatment:

Their acceptance of having a disease/abuse issues

Their development of a recovery plan, including relapse prevention

Development of social clean and sober support-12 Step Program participation

Individual bio/psycho/social problems

Bio-Chemical Restoration

VISION

We envision a profound transformation in the treatment of addiction, making available nutrient therapy and other modalities for repairing core emotional, spiritual and physical deficits. Treatment will no longer be abstinence alone, but also the elimination of cravings and the creation of optimal well-being through biochemical restoration, 12 step program participation and emotional sobriety. GOALS

To achieve universal understanding that addictive/abusive behaviors are symptoms of biochemical imbalances. To eliminate the concept that relapse is a necessary part of recovery

To establish a holistic approach with nutrient therapy as innovative integration of brain-body energy techniques that address the individual physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of people suffering from addictive/abusive disorders

To raise public awareness that “for every drug that benefits a patient, there is a naturally occurring substance that can achieve the same effect”

To address the underlying causes of addiction/abuse and not just treat symptoms
