Protect Your Back This Winter!
Snow shoveling may seem like a simple chore, but it’s one of the most common causes of back, shoulder and muscle injuries. Cold temperatures, heavy snow and repetitive lifting can quickly strain your body, especially if you’re not using safe mechanics.
RehabVisions put together these tips to help you avoid injury this season:
-Warm up first (even 3–5 minutes of marching in place helps)
-Use proper form—bend at the knees and hips, keep the load close, and avoid twisting
-Push instead of lifting heavy snow, whenever possible
-Take smaller scoops and pace yourself to prevent fatigue
-Switch sides often to reduce strain on your back and shoulders
-Stop if you feel pain, dizziness, or shortness of breath
If shoveling causes back pain, shoulder pain or lingering soreness, therapy can help you recover safely and prevent the issue from becoming long-term.
Stay safe, shovel smart and protect your mobility!

International Quality of Life Month
Quality of life isn’t just about living longer. It’s about living better, moving with less pain, staying independent and feeling confident in your body.
RehabVisions supports patients every day with therapy that helps improve function, walk with more stability, recover after surgery, manage chronic pain, or reduce fall risk.
Here are a few simple ways to protect and improve your quality of life:
-Stay consistent with movement (even short walks help)
-Build strength and balance to support safe mobility
-Address pain early before it limits activity
-Prioritize flexibility and joint health
-Focus on goals that support independence and everyday function
If pain, weakness or balance issues are getting in the way of your daily life, rehab therapy can help you move forward with a clear plan and expert guidance.
This month, invest in your quality of life—because your independence matters.

Make Safety Part of The Fun
Winter sports are great ways to stay active—but winter conditions can increase the risk of strains, sprains, falls and overuse injuries.
Rehab therapy encourages athletes and families to stay safe with a few simple habits that help prevent injuries and keep you doing what you love:
-Warm up before you start an activity since cold muscles are more likely to strain
-Wear the right gear—especially helmets and properly fitted footwear
-Build strength and balance to reduce fall risk and improve control
-Know your limits—fatigue is one of the biggest drivers of winter injuries
-Listen to pain early to prevent small issues from becoming bigger setbacks
If soreness, stiffness or a fall is keeping you from staying active this season, our therapy can help you recover and safely continue doing the things you enjoy.

We’re Hiring: Physical Therapist
RehabVisions is seeking a Physical Therapist to join our growing therapy department in Leon, Iowa! This full-time, hospital-based role offers a diverse mix of inpatient and outpatient caseloads, including neuro, ortho, pediatrics, Parkinson’s and women’s health.
Cervical cancer is one of the most preventable cancers—and regular screenings and HPV vaccination are key to early detection and risk reduction. But awareness also means understanding how treatment and recovery can impact pelvic health and quality of life.
Many people assume these symptoms are aspects of recovery they just have to endure— but improvement is possible with the right treatment plan and support.
This month, take action through prevention—and know help is available at every stage of care.

RehabVisions was founded by physical therapist Joel Larmore and his brother Rick in 1983. Joel’s idea was to bring high-quality rehab therapy to smaller communities through contracted services. This continues to be the driving purpose of our company. We now staff and manage therapy departments for hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, home health agencies and schools in 11 states. We provide the full continuum of physical, occupational and speech therapy services including program evaluation and development, management services and recruiting.
In 2001 we started a travel division called Cariant Health Partners. Cariant places therapists and nurses in short-term, typically 13 weeks, assignments all over the country. Although its own company, the team at Cariant shares our Home Office and helps to alleviate short-term needs in RehabVisions’ own contracted facilities.
Over the years, we also saw a need to assist outpatient clinic owners looking to retire. Using our own successful outpatient clinic in Dickinson, North Dakota as a model, RehabVisions acquired an outpatient clinic in Des Moines in 2010. Since then we’ve acquired clinics in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Washington and Kansas.
Even with this tremendous growth, our company tagline—Traditional Values. Innovative Care—still stands. We stay true to our traditional values and strive to provide innovative care in the ever-changing environment of healthcare.
We believe our people and their commitment to our values are the reasons behind our success. The majority of our management team are therapists themselves, and most have been with the company for more than 15 years. We pride ourselves on this tenure, both with our employees and our clients. Nearly 40 percent of our facilities have partnered with us for more than a decade.
