🏇🌹 Today, our community was off to the races for a festive Kentucky Derby celebration!

We enjoyed an afternoon full of fun with our very own horse racing games, delicious treats, and plenty of Derby spirit. What made the day even more special was the chance to connect our celebration to the rich history right beneath our feet.

We were honored to welcome guest speaker Mike Kratville, a horse racing expert, who shared fascinating insights into the history of the Kentucky Derby and the world of horse racing. He also brought our story closer to home by speaking about the historic Aksarben Racetrack—once located right where our community now stands.

From the excitement of the Kentucky Derby to the legacy of Aksarben, it was incredible to reflect on how our grounds were once part of such a vibrant racing tradition from 1919-1995. Did you know Aksarben racetrack was among the top 10 racetracks in the U.S?

Today, we may not have had thoroughbreds—but we certainly had plenty of winners, laughter, and unforgettable memories. 🏆

Today we hosted a fun and refreshing water infusion class! 💧🍓🍋 We talked about the many benefits of staying hydrated and how adding natural flavors can make drinking water more enjoyable.

It was the perfect activity as we head into the start of summer. Helping everyone stay cool, healthy, and hydrated. To top it off, each resident received a brand new water bottle to keep the good habits going!

We had such a wonderful time visiting the new Omaha Public Library! 📚

From exploring the beautiful new space to browsing books and sharing stories, it was a day full of smiles, new authors, and good coffee. Outings like these are a great reminder of how important it is to stay connected to our community.

We’re already looking forward to our next visit. There's still so much left to discover!

Celebrating a little elegance and a lot of nature today 🌸🫖

In honor of the 70th anniversary of My Fair Lady and Earth Day, we spent the afternoon planting flowers and enjoying a lovely patio tea party. From dainty sandwiches and sweet desserts to fresh fruit and sunshine, it was the perfect blend of beauty, growth, and good company.

After all… “The rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain,” but today, the flowers are right here with us 💐

We loved having the Methodist Occupational Therapy students stop in for morning exercise fun! They brought so much energy and joy through fun balloon games that kept everyone moving, laughing, and engaged.

While the activities focused on building strength and coordination, they also created meaningful moments of connection and support for our residents. It’s always special to see how something simple can make such a big impact.
