Don”t let myths stop you from getting screened.

Myth: Only people with symptoms need screenings.

Fact: Screenings help find cancer before symptoms appear.

Myth: You don”t need screenings if you have no family history of cancer.

Fact: Most people diagnosed with cancer have no family history of the disease.

Myth: Screenings expose you to too much radiation.

Fact: The level of radiation in screenings is very low and safe. For example, the radiation from a single mammogram is about the same as the natural background radiation you are exposed to over several weeks. Natural background radiation comes from sources like the sun, soil and even the food we eat.

Stay informed and protect your health. Share this post to help spread the truth about cancer screenings and encourage others to get checked.
