Avenue Scholars Southwest Iowa's Health Services CNA Summer Bootcamp took place on the Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital campus during June. A total of 10 students earned their CNA certification through Nebraska Methodist College.

"I just feel like everyone should go through an experience like this, because I've met some of my best friends in the past four weeks. So it's been great," said Allison Britten, a recent graduate of Underwood High School at the graduation ceremony on June 26 at Iowa Western Community College.

A health service boot camp last month in partnership with Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs had high schoolers spending time on the hospital floor while earning their CNAs.

At Methodist, we’re supporting new moms when it matters most.

Methodist Women’s Hospital, Methodist Fremont Health and Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital are proud to participate in the Nebraska Perinatal Quality Improvement Collaborative’s (NPQIC) Teal Band Project – part of its Initiative – to help address and raise awareness about the troubling rates of maternal morbidity and mortality.

As part of this project, new mothers will be given a teal wristband band which they are encouraged to wear for six weeks after giving birth. This will help caregivers recognize postpartum patients – ensuring they receive the compassionate attention, support and care they need during this critical time.

Healing Touch nurses represented Methodist during the Omaha Farmers Market at Aksarben Village on June 22. The team gave 22 Healing Touch treatments and shared about the therapy with many others!
