Many ugly & unkind accusations & a lot of ignorant misinformation about SNAP & individuals who are recipients are floating around online. Regardless of your political position let's not forget who may be affected if SNAP benefits are cut off.
FACTS.
-39% of SNAP recipients are children
-20% are elderly
-10% are non-elderly with a disability
-8% are military veterans
-1% are active duty military
--73% had a gross monthly income at or below 100% of the poverty level.
-Many SNAP recipients do have earned income but work in service positions with unstable hours/pay.

I have the best job EVER! We spent an amazing day at the Coastal Discovery Museum in Hilton Head Island, SC with their marine biologist, Amanda, teaching childcare providers and their kids in Nebraska (virtually!) about sea life and reptiles. Her enthusiasm was contagious and the kids (and us!) loved learning facts about these amazing animals and seeing them up close!!

One of my favorite quick, easy and simply delicious meals, “sushi” bowls. This one includes seasoned and baked salmon 🍣 ( sushi grade raw, smoked or canned salmon all work great also!), cucumbers, avocado, seaweed flakes/ sheets and seasoned with siracha and Asian mayo( regular mayo works also😉). A great, satisfying meal idea that provides well absorbed protein, omega 3’s, fiber, and rich nutrients from the seaweed including vitamin B12, iodine and potassium !
