Most of us are excited about an "extra hour of sleep", but changes in routine and daylight can increase confusion, restlessness, or “sundowning” symptoms in people with dementia.

To help ease the transition:
🌅 Keep daily routines consistent
💡 Let in natural light during the day
🌙 Create a calm, well-lit environment in the evening
💬 Offer reassurance and patience as their body adjusts

Caring for a loved one can be stressful—sometimes all you need is a minute to reset. Box breathing is a simple technique that helps calm the mind and lower stress levels:

👉 Inhale for 4 counts
👉 Hold for 4 counts
👉 Exhale for 4 counts
👉 Hold for 4 counts
(Repeat 3–4 times)

Box breathing reduces anxiety, lowers blood pressure, improves focus, and creates a sense of calm in tough moments.
