Does your kiddo struggle with reading and glasses don’t seem to help? Thanks to a good friend who referred Fiona to us, she no longer struggles to read, plus, she has a whole bunch more improvements to share with you.

Fiona: “Since doing vision therapy my reading has improved a lot! I learned how to ride my bike without training wheels. I worked really hard and earned some fun rewards. I like reading a lot more after therapy. I know more words and get less frustrated. I’m grateful that I was able to do vision therapy!”

Mom: “Prior to vision therapy, our daughter Fiona, struggled with reading. She would get very frustrated and needed a lot of encouragement. After discovering she needed glasses, I expected her reading to improve, but it really didn’t. I was talking to another mom whose child went through vision therapy years ago. I had never heard of it. We decided to have Fiona evaluated and discovered that she was a good candidate. Dr. Will, the staff, and her vision therapist, Ms. Kari, were so wonderful to work with. They also helped us through when we needed encouragement. Fiona worked very hard and earned some rewards along the way. She learned how to ride her bike soon after starting vision therapy as well, due to her improved balance!

These days we continue to work on her reading skills, but she has so much more confidence! The exercises have helped her significantly! I would highly recommend vision therapy for anyone; it is well worth it.”

Jorge: “Before I got Scleral Lenses, even simple daily tasks felt like a struggle. I’d find myself squinting, straining, and constantly adjusting just to get through the day. But since I started wearing scleral lenses, everything has become so much clearer - literally and figuratively.
Now, I wake up knowing I can take on the day without worrying about my vision holding me back. Whether I’m working, driving, or spending time with family, I feel more present and capable. My confidence has grown because I’m no longer second guessing myself or hesitating due to poor eyesight.

Vision therapy has helped to improve his ability to see and learn classroom material. It has also helped to improve his writing. How did this kiddo get rid of his weekly migraines? Sam and his mom are happy to share how he did it. Thanks to a referral from Dr. Reed at ModernEyes Eyecare & Eyewear we all have something to celebrate!

Sam: “I used to get headaches every day. Eye Therapy helped a ton. I get headaches a lot less frequently and feel a lot better. This has helped my daily life and I’m happy to have done eye therapy.”

Mom: “My son Sam was complaining of headaches daily. These would frequently lead to a weekly migraine that would prevent him from acting like a normal teenager. He was missing school frequently and just did not feel well.
Eye therapy has helped him reduce his everyday headaches to almost none at all. His weekly migraine does not happen anymore. Overall, he seems to be living an easier/better daily life. He is happy he did eye therapy.
It is scary to take a chance on the time and the money needed to do eye therapy when you are unsure if it will help your kiddo. He is the second child we have done eye therapy with; both times were a hard choice. In the end eye therapy has made a difference in how my kids feel and act. Both child and parent are glad we chose to do eye therapy.”

Mom: “Just do it, I know it sounds like a lot of money and time, but it’s worth it! Our 7-year-old was suffering from car sickness her entire life until vision therapy, now no more car sickness, 😊 after she learned to use her side vision. Also, she is enjoying reading more now that it’s easier. She can follow from one line to the other and even read ahead. We have also noticed a big improvement in her coordination.”

Happy Staff Appreciation Day! The staff at Heartland Eye Consultants were celebrated for jobs well done for our doctors and in the care given to our patients. What fun we had celebrating at Top Golf in Omaha.

Thanks again for all you do for our patients, the practice, and for us! We could not help our patients and provide them with the highest level of care without all of you!
