A Little Space Yoga & Tai Chi

A Little Space Yoga & Tai Chi A Little Space Yoga & Tai Chi is a space for you — a place that offers you space and support for you to breathe and remember who you truly are.

Many people arrive at their first Yoga or Tai Chi class in search of something. It might be more flexibility, strength, or balance, or improved health and wellness, or peace and calm, or happiness, or even love and acceptance. We are all searching for something, always it seems, in our lives. Whatever it is for you, the search is not outside of yourself; it is within. Everything you need is there! That is the foundation of teaching at A Little Space Yoga & Tai Chi. Embrace who you really are, and realize you are enough exactly as you are. Come home to yourself. You are already complete and whole.

When we over-identify with emotions, we suffer more. But mindfulness and self-compassion help us relate to our feelings without becoming them—holding them with care.

Next time a strong emotion comes up, pause and say: “This is a moment of suffering. May I be kind to myself. And then rest in the kindness.” Notice the shift.

There are seasons in life when the things that once brought you joy suddenly feel distant. Hobbies lose their spark. Conversations feel heavier. Even the things you used to look forward to can feel like effort. It can be easy to interpret that shift as something being wrong with you.

But losing interest is often not a sign of being broken. It can be a quiet signal from your mind and body that you are tired, overwhelmed, or in need of space to breathe again. Sometimes what looks like disconnection is actually the beginning of reconnection.

When you allow yourself time to rest and reset, the parts of you that once felt dull can slowly come back to life. Healing often begins not with pushing harder, but with giving yourself permission to pause.

Be gentle with yourself 🥹❤️

There are seasons in life when you move so quickly through responsibilities and expectations that you lose touch with yourself along the way. The disconnection can feel unsettling, as if something inside you has quietly gone missing. Many people assume that feeling means something is wrong with them.

But often it is not a problem to solve. It is a signal that your inner life has been asking for attention. Disconnection can be a gentle reminder that your pace has been too fast or your needs have been set aside for too long.

Sometimes the most meaningful progress begins the moment you stop trying to force answers and instead give yourself the space to listen again.

Research shows that practicing loving-kindness meditation increases our self-compassion levels.

Loving-kindness refers to goodwill towards ourselves and others. When we increase goodwill toward ourself and we remain benevolent even when we make mistakes or fail at something, that goodwill manifests as self-compassion.

Ready to try it? Comment “LOVING-KINDNESS” below, and we’ll DM it to you a guided Loving-Kindness Meditation.

Whenever you notice you are in pain, remember you have three steps you can take, and they are especially powerful when you do them sequentially:

1️⃣ Mindfulness: Hold your thoughts and emotions in mindful awareness. Observe them without judgment.

2️⃣ Shared Humanity: Remind yourself that encountering pain is part of the shared human experience. We are all in this together.

3️⃣ Kindness: Offer yourself the kindness and care you deserve.

"Be soft. Do not let the world make you hard. Do not let the pain make you hate. Do not let the bitterness steal your sweetness. Take pride that even though the rest of the world may disagree, you still believe it to be a beautiful place."
