Our women in medicine group met this evening to do some networking and community service. We were hosted by the nonprofit Bags of Fun Omaha and helped them stuff backpacks filled with a variety of comfort items and entertainment for children battling cancer, as well as backpacks filled calming and comfort items for youth at being discharged from local inpatient mental health facilities. They are always needing volunteers as well as donations.

Thanks to all of our amazing member physicians who turned out today for our annual DocBuild event with Habitat for Humanity. We participated in their rock the block event and helped with cleanup near the Vikingship community center. We finished the area they had planned and our amazing volunteers kept going to do additional cleanup around the building itself.
