REGISTER NOW! 2026 Tractor & Equipment Safety Trainings are scheduled across the state. Certification from this course allows 14- and 15-year-olds to legally drive a tractor and do field work with certain mechanized equipment. Register at https://cvent.me/0oRoRz!

Certification is earned by completing a two-day certification course, which includes a written test and a driving exam. Successful completion grants NSTMOP certification, allowing them to operate tractors and certain mechanized equipment on farms and ranches, and obtain a husbandry permit. Youth under 14 can attend Day 1 if accompanied by an adult, at no charge.

No Day 1 at your location? You can attend it at another location, or choose the online option!

Ellen Duysen, Outreach Coordinator with the Central States Center for Agricultural Safety and Health (CS-CASH), had the opportunity to discuss dairy safety with attendees at the Nebraska State Dairy Association Nebraska Dairy Convention in beautiful West Point, Nebraska.

From heat stress and tick exposure to infectious diseases and livestock handling risks, dairy workers face a wide range of occupational hazards every day. Sharing practical, prevention-focused strategies helps protect the health and safety of those who keep our dairy industry strong.

Nebraska dairy producers also received livestock handling safety materials designed to reduce injury risk and promote safer work practices.

Together, we’re working to keep dairy operations safe, healthy, and resilient.
