Last Friday, Creighton OT students were part of another CarFit event. It’s powerful to see how small changes make a big difference. Participants are amazed to learn how a few simple adjustments—like seat height, mirror angles, or steering wheel positioning—can improve both comfort and safety behind the wheel. Even better? Many leave excited to share what they’ve learned with friends and family, extending the impact far beyond the event.
This program reflects what makes Creighton Occupational Therapy unique:
🔹Offer the opportunity for students to become CarFit Certified Technicians
🔹 Connecting students with community partners to provide valuable services for older adults.
🔹 Giving students hands-on opportunities to apply OT principles in real-world contexts.
🔹 Building partnerships that support safer, more independent living for our aging population.
We are grateful for our incredible CarFit partners:
Laura Haddan Raastad, DRM Wellness; Brian Pfeifer, Adapt Home Services; Amy Robbins, Clare Senior Advisors
Shout-out to our amazing Creighton OT student volunteers—you make events like this such a great experience! A special thank you to Libby from Connect 55+ for helping us coordinate this opportunity.
We’re already looking forward to our Spring and Summer 2026 CarFit events. Together, we’re helping older adults stay safe, independent, and confident on the road.
