A new article from Drug Topics spotlights what we know: pharmacy technicians are stepping confidently into advanced clinical roles and transforming patient care in the process!

At the recent ASHP Midyear meeting, experts highlighted how innovative career ladders, like the one at WVU Medicine, are helping technicians grow beyond traditional Technician I/II structures. From medication history to antimicrobial stewardship, specialized technicians are improving care transitions, strengthening workflows, and supporting teams in both inpatient and outpatient settings, including rural and underserved areas.
