Due to the current Covid pandemic food banks are getting hit hard. Heartland Hope Mission is currently serving almost TRIPLE the amount of families that they usually serve. Their biggest needs right now are non-perishable food and hygiene products - especially diapers and baby wipes.

We here at Omaha Central Chiropractic want to help them out. For the month of May Omaha Central Chiropractic will be serving as a drop-off location for any of our patients who wish to help. If you have any non-perishable food or personal hygiene products that you can spare please bring them in and we'll distribute them to Heartland Hope Mission.

Please help us help our community!

Here's an update to all our friends and patients as to what we're doing, and what YOU can be doing, to stay as safe and healthy as possible during this Corona outbreak.

03/17/2020

Dear Patients and Friends:

While we all try to navigate these uncertain times, Omaha Central Chiropractic will continue to stay aware of recommendations by the IDPH, WHO and CDC to make informed decisions for our patients and community. At this time, you can rest assured that we continue to take every precaution reasonably possible to ensure a healthy environment in our office.

This week we will be operating as usual and will continue to properly clean and sanitize the office multiple times per day.

We encourage all of our patients and families to strictly monitor their health. If you're sick - stay home! Call us, we'll get you rescheduled. Likewise, if you're nervous about coming in to the office - call us! We're taking multiple extra precautions to make sure that you, your family, and our staff stay safe and healthy during this time.

Our top priority is the health of our patients. Therefore, unless instructed otherwise, we are staying open so that we can continue to provide safe, effective, and quality care to all of our patients.

Yours in health,

Dr Jamie Van Roekel

Chiropractic Care is an Essential Healthcare Service
📷
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

March 16, 2020 (Falls Church, VA) In these challenging times associated with the COVID-19 Pandemic, the International Chiropractors Association (ICA) is issuing a statement reaffirming chiropractic as an essential healthcare service.

Everyone is under extraordinary levels of stress.
Chiropractic Services represent an essential and necessary component of the health care program of millions of patients of all ages and all walks of life in the United States and worldwide. Timely and consistent access to chiropractic care is essential to the maintenance of the health and wellbeing of this patient population, particularly during times of stress.

The association encourages jurisdictions at all levels to acknowledge and respect that chiropractic is an essential healthcare service even during a pandemic.

It is important to recognize that as of mid-March 2020, there are no recognized cures in conventional medicine or alternative health approaches for COVID-19. There are no vaccines, no drugs, no natural remedies, no alternative therapies that have been tested and the outcomes peer reviewed to meet any evidence-based standard. The public has the right to seek their own pathway to health and well-being. For millions of Americans, that pathway includes regular chiropractic care. For individuals such as those recovering from injury or suffering back pain, chiropractic care is essential on their road to recovery.

ICA President, Stephen P. Welsh, DC, F**A stated, “While Coronavirus-19 has everyone’s attention, it cannot be forgotten that health promotion and non-opioid pain management through chiropractic adjustments of the subluxation is essential and should not be curtailed or restricted because of this pandemic.

With churches, schools, restaurants, museums being closed, the ICA reminds authorities that the offices of doctors of chiropractic should be treated no differently than the offices of medical doctors – as an essential health care service.”

Little Jamison just got his first adjustment today. 9 days old, he and Mom are both doing great!

Did you know that babies can get adjusted? The youngest child I've ever adjusted was 25 hours old. Birth is hard, for both mom and child, and I always recommend new parents and babies get checked as soon as everyone is able so that Mom and baby can stay as healthy as possible.

Whenever a baby or infant gets adjusted it's much different that adjusting an adult. It's basically just a gentle application of pressure. In little babies it most often helps with digestion and sleep issues.

If you think or your children can benefit from Chiropractic give us a call, we'd love to help.

***EDIT*** THIS IS NOT MY CHILD - he's one of my patient's children and just happens to have the same name as me
