Happy Tuesday from all of us at Compassionate Minds Therapy!

Here's a gentle reminder or Tuesday tip for your week: it's okay to not have everything figured out. Healing isn't a straight line, it's a process and every small step forward counts.

One tip we love sharing with clients: try the "5-4-3-2-1" grounding technique when stress starts to creep in. Notice 5 things you can see, 4 you can touch, 3 you can hear, 2 you can smell, and 1 you can taste. It's a simple way to bring yourself back to the present moment. đź’›

You deserve support. You deserve to feel well. We're here when you're ready.

Childhood Anxiety vs. Adult Anxiety: What’s the Difference?

Anxiety doesn’t look the same at every age and for kids, it can be easy to miss.
👶 In children, anxiety often shows up as behavior:
• Clinginess or fear of being away from parents
• Stomachaches or headaches with no clear cause
• Avoiding school or activities
• Irritability, meltdowns, or trouble sleeping
• Constant “what if” worries
Children don’t always have the words to say “I feel anxious” so they show us instead.
👩‍🦳 In adults, anxiety is usually more internal:
• Racing thoughts or overthinking
• Stress about work, health, or finances
• Trouble concentrating or sleeping
• Physical tension or fatigue

Why this matters:
Early support makes a big difference. When we recognize anxiety in children, we can help them build healthy coping skills that last a lifetime.

If your child seems overwhelmed, avoidant, or “not themselves,” it may be more than just a phase. Compassionate Minds Therapy is here to support you and your family.

March is National Social Work Month đź’™
At Compassionate Minds Therapy, we want to take a moment to recognize and celebrate the incredible therapists who serve our clients and community every single day.

Social workers are more than clinicians — they are advocates, listeners, encouragers, and steady guides through life’s most challenging seasons. They show up with compassion, professionalism, and unwavering dedication to helping individuals and families heal, grow, and thrive.

To our therapists:
Thank you for the care you provide.
Thank you for the safe spaces you create.
Thank you for the advocacy you champion.
Thank you for the difference you make — often in ways that may never be fully seen, but are deeply felt.

We are so grateful for your heart, your expertise, and your commitment to this important work. Our community is stronger because of you.

Happy National Social Work Month! đź’™

🚨 No One Talks About This Enough.

If you’re in your 40s or 50s and suddenly feeling:

• More anxious
• Easily irritated
• Tearful out of nowhere
• Exhausted but can’t sleep
• Foggy and overwhelmed
It might not be “just stress.”

It might be menopause.

Hormone shifts can significantly impact mental health — and too many women are told to just push through.
You don’t have to.

At Compassionate Minds Therapy, we support women navigating the emotional side of perimenopause and menopause — with compassion, clarity, and real tools.
This season deserves support. đź’š

• Step outside and take a few deep breaths
• Drink a full glass of water
• Send a text to someone who makes you feel supported
• Remind yourself: “I am doing the best I can.”
