👁️ A Look Into Your Eye Exam
Over the next few weeks, we’ll be taking a closer look at the different machines used during your eye exam—what they do and why they matter.
This week: Auto Refractor
The auto refractor is a quick, painless test that gives us a starting point for your glasses prescription. You’ll simply look at a small image inside the machine while it measures how light enters your eye.
👉 It’s fast, easy, and helps guide the rest of your exam—but it’s not your final prescription.

⚠️ Important Eye Drop Recall ⚠️
A large number of over-the-counter eye drops have recently been recalled due to concerns about sterility. When a product isn’t fully sterile, it can increase the risk of irritation or even eye infection.
These drops were distributed under multiple store-brand names and sold at major retailers like Walgreens, CVS, Kroger, Rite Aid, Publix, Meijer, and others—so they may be in your medicine cabinet without you realizing it.
👁️ Affected products may include:
• Artificial tears
• Dry eye relief drops
• Redness relief drops
• Lubricating or “soothing” eye drops
Because many were labeled as generic/store brands, it’s important to take a moment to check your bottles.
👉 What should you do?
If you have any questionable eye drops, stop using them and reach out to your eye care provider if you have concerns.
Even though this recall is considered lower risk, your eyes are sensitive—and it’s always better to play it safe.
