Celebrating 1 Year with Andrea! πŸŽ‰

Her advice since starting:
β€œSelf-care is so important. Some weeks are super stressful, and if I’m not taking care of my mental and physical health, I can’t really help our families and kids.”

Why Andrea chooses KVC:
β€œBeing able to work from home and have flexibility with scheduling is great. I’ve also really enjoyed writing home studies.”

Thank you, Andrea, for all you do to support families and kids every day! πŸ’™

Shared Living Providers offer individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities support and training in a family-style home. This helps them build social skills, independence and confidence while living in a caring, home-like environment.

Individuals work with their provider to set personal goals for independence and daily living. Some may also have mental health diagnoses or behavioral challenges, and providers help implement therapy, behavioral strategies or other supports recommended by the care team.

Shared Living Providers also offer transportation to appointments, helping individuals follow through with medical or mental health care and other activities that support their growth.

Looking back on 2025, Erica, Becca, Lisa and Fannye attended the National Adoption Day event in Lancaster County on November 12th. They partnered with DHHS and other agencies to help families celebrate adoption.

During the event, many families finalized their adoptions and celebrated together at the courthouse with crafts, food, face painting, balloon art and more. KVC helped by gathering donations and gifts for families and youth celebrating adoption. Our KVC team members also served food to attendees, and Placke Pro Photo (shoutout to staff member Fannye!) graciously volunteered to capture beautiful photos of every family following their adoption hearings.

It was a wonderful way to close out 2025 celebrating families and the power of adoption πŸ’™

As we kick off 2026, we’re looking back on a β€œKVC Nebraska Wrapped” moment and our annual Staff Appreciation celebration. πŸŽ‰

2025 marked a big milestone for us, our 16th birthday, and there is no better way to celebrate than by honoring the people who make our mission possible. We celebrate our team because our team is the organization. We cannot exist without their dedication, compassion and commitment to advancing our vision.

Our Staff Appreciation celebration was full of gifts (prizes), food (burritos, sliders and charcuterie) and fun (Family Feud and Trivia).

Here is a recap of our award winners as we start 2026 with gratitude and pride πŸ’™
