Influenza showed up just in time for the holidays…
📣 If your kiddo has a fever and cold symptoms, the probability of them currently having influenza is HIGH!!!! 🤒 🤧
Flu treatment:
•Run a humidifier and/or give warm baths/showers
•Use saline drops and suction noses for littles
•Push fluids
•Honey is helpful for coughs in children over 1 yr.
•Tylenol and/or ibuprofen may be given for fever/pain (no ibuprofen in children under 6mo old)
•Lots of rest & snuggles
•Stay home to avoid infecting others
When to be seen:
•Any child under 3 months with a fever or anyone with a fever > 100.4 for more than 3 days.
•Any child appearing dehydrated
•Any child with labored or difficulty breathing
•Any child with worsening or severe symptoms
•Any child with concerns for other conditions like ear infections or pneumonia
•Any time parents are concerned!
